I think Wilder meant it was a ridiculous ask by a club when negotiating a transfer, i.e. a fee or something like thatDidn't Wilder get quoted as saying one deal was ridiculous and people wouldnt believe it? Maybe this is it.

Most people seem to want to think it's us signing Kyle Walker or some other player that won't happenYeah exactly, hence the comment about the silly fee being asked by Soton might be what he meant![]()

Do you think we could trick them and offer 20 mill if Sheffield Wednesday get promoted?

The Southampton valuation is true and I'm sure that was the 'ridiculous deal' that Wilder was referring to last week. Everything was agreed for him to come on loan with the option to buy but then Sunderland came sniffing last week and now Southampton want to make it an obligation to buy on promotion with that ridiculous valuation.
I am lead to believe from someone who should be pretty sure we had a loan deal all tied up. Then club and agent did upturn and wanted £20m, smacks of Brewster. They'll be stuck with him for the season then.
Time to move onto Louie Barry...

Not unless Wilders prepared to offshore and he repeated in his interview he doesn’t think a team full of internationals doesn’t workplenty more options out there

It’s bcos Souza is that fuckin good it sometimes seems as though there’s 2 of him on the pitch. Easy mistake to make tbh. Even seen ‘TripleSouzas’, performances before from him. #SouzaMagic. Love it.In the interview he counted Souza twice, although he only said 6 or 7.
Are they taking the piss? Paid 7m and they’ve managed to knock 2-3m off his value.no way southampton will get 15m for bbd

Having a laugh.
Excellent post. Not at all. They know BBD only wants to come here, they know he could be the difference between going up or not to us, they know we are guaranteed £100m plus if we do go up.
Suspect it will go to the end of the window and depends how desperate they are to offload him. If he stays at Soton then his value drops massively when they get relegated.
Can see us putting something on the table in a take it or leave it style. We must put a deadline on them however as we need to consider alternatives and quickly.
They paid over the odds when they signed him as well. Are they taking the piss? Paid 7m and they’ve managed to knock 2-3m off his value.

The figure quoted will just be a negotiation tactic. They're just after the best price possible. Which will probably end up being less than what they paid for him.
The only issue for them is that the £15 million figure might just scare us off
A player is worth what a club is willing to pay.I’d respectfully disagree. Possible injuries aside, I thought Southampton bought wisely & well with BBD.
They paid £7.5m for a 25yr old international, who’d scored 6 in 14 for a woeful PL side, 45 in 144 for Blackburn and 7 in 35 for Chile.
His ill judged spell in Spain probably shaved between £2.5m and £5m off of his value at the time.
If Wilder and his team pay anymore than £7m they want sackingA player is worth what a club is willing to pay.

Agree, at his age players are at theYou’d have to say that today, with his spell at Southampton now in the same box as his time in Spain, and rumours of a knee issue, his value is that kind of number (£7m to £7.5m).

I think they bought BBD for the price they did because no other clubs were interested in signing him on a permanent for a fee.I’d respectfully disagree. Possible injuries aside, I thought Southampton bought wisely & well with BBD.
