I cannot see anyone of significance joining before the closure of the transfer window; all the rumblings surrounding Michael Brown had almost made me believe that he may return but Steve Bruce has seemingly put an end to the speculation.

I'm still concerned about our midfield but this has become something i have learned to live with; hopefully i will be surprised by a headline signing over the next week or so.

Spring hendrie and squinny all shown they can play in the middle and hopefully with tonge as well, they can rise to it and compete for the shirt.

If we need a midfield player with flair - great on the ball, can pass and has a wicked shot - we should try looking at Julian Guzman who plays for Deportivo in the Spanish first division. He may be out of our price range but he plays like Speed as a young man (he is currently 27). Just happens to play for Canada, like Pech. Saw him in the game against Jamaica and he is clearly of a different class. Not a wimp either.

Im not sure Koumas would interest Blackwell, given his attitude in the past.

We HAVE to look abroad IMO. The players of the quality we need are all too expensive in the UK & im sure there are plenty of good technical players in Eastern Europe & South America for us to have a look at.
