Why? I would imagine this comes from having to prove financial eligibility which third tier teams wouldn't do usually. It's rumoured that if we win the Cup the FA have already decided to introduce a retrospective rule change forbidding division 3 clubs from winning the cup. If this was the case the cup would be awarded to Man Utd on the basis that if they don't qualify for Europe this will hurt the feelings of their customers in Singapore.
