After todays result I'd say our chances of promotion are over for this season. If Birmingham beat Wolves on Monday and we lose to Blades (the current 'in form' championship team by a clear mile) next week, then that will confirm it.

We'll go through the motions in the play offs but unless we can find some real, overall, improvement teams like SU, Cardiff and Burnley will trounce us.

That means another championship season next year and with the possible inclusion of teams like WBA, Newcastle and Boro, it'll be no place for the faint hearted!

From a Reading supporter. :) Things look Jolly down this end!

Intresting, the first time we picked up a point after a tired international broken side:-B. Im feeling good, I think United should be worried about their form against Reading, could be the deciding factor. I think Sheff will be the better team as they are playing terrific atm. But they wont get past our defence and the ref (for ther first time in history) will be bias for us!!!(Bout %^%$^& time!!!). Reading need a win.. They are'nt conceeding so score, we win.. simple. Wolves are gunna beat Brum on Monday no question..

Then one that thinks they will win on the basis of our form against them. (Y)

IF tonight and the Barnsley game went our way, I'd start to feel hopeful. Reading are bricking it given their current form and a poor 0-0 at the weekend - according to local radio the response from their fans after the game as Coventry was as if they'd lost and dropped down a few places, rather than got another point (and all the texts from the plastics being read out on Radio Berkshire this morning were slagging the team off). If we keep the momentum going tomorrow, I'd think this could be the season we finally turn Reading over at the Madjeski and then it would be looking v good.

I'm also starting to believe. 7 points from the next 3 matches is a good return but I'm starting to believe we can get 9.
We're actually getting the ball down now and playing a bit. We look more commanding at the back and creating chances up front. You can see the confidence returning to the players. Special praise recently for Cotts and Halford.

Thought Morgs was fantastic on saturday, and the front 2 worked well together, Henderson always seemed to know where Ward was when he went for a knock-down. Only weak link was mini-Quinn - would like to see O'toole given the starting place, or if fully fit possibly Hendrie who was in form before the injury, but suspect KB will stay loyal to Quinn for at least another game.

They do seem to developing a good partnership/understanding... If you watch the replays too, Jamie Ward is close enough to have been on the end of both goals. He was also in exactly the right place had Hendo's first touch/cross gone over the keeper (when Halford put him through with another quality ball).

I'd say he has been for months, his energy and this seasons knack for scoring goals has been all that's kept him in the team I think.

Monty & O'Toole for me. Maybe Hendo coming on late on for Cotts.

Monty was another one I thought had a v good game on Sat, and good to see him getting some credit for it too from the crowd - there was quite often applause for a Monty challenge or run, different from the stick he gets so often!

I admire Montys character and attitude. Never mind what stick hes receiving he always gives 100 per cent. He does all the important dirty work for the team and never complains.

The Monty bashing has been dampened an awful lot in recent weeks/months, but unfortunately it's just bounced onto Squinny.

Two absolutely spot-on statements there. Monty has always worked very hard for the team - he might not be a "flair" player but there's no denying that every team needs a Monty, ready to the dirty bits and make the simple passes to develop play.
Ours was Stuart McCall.
Now our Monty is Monty.

I agree, we keep saying it, he's having a 'mare lately, he needs resting. I really hope KB realises
