BBD

Would have been a nice addition at a fair price to flesh out the squad after the departures of Moore, Brewster, JRS and ironically BBD. Not sure after last season I’d want him starting but certainly the type of player that would make for a stronger bench than we currently have.

We certainly have other immediate priorities now.

RW, RB, CB, CM for now but another attacking threat would be nice to add I would say. An injury and we are very very light .

This link feels very much like lazy journalism/agent rumours to me. His position isn't one we're likely to be prioritising. I'd imagine it's a case of: he's likely moving in the window, we're included in the rumour on account of already loaning him previously. Loaning the same player 3 seasons in a row would be a strange one.

Blades fans baffle me. BBD is proven stat his level, and made a good showing for us at the level above. But instead we choose to judge him as being shite based on a period where he was played out of position in a side that wasn’t actually playing well.
I would snatch Southampton’s hand off, he would be a great addition to the squad.

I'm not opposed to bringing him back in concept. My concerns would be mainly around how much we might have to pay to get him.

He has a very strong record at Championship level of course, but he would now be competing with Louie Barry for a starting berth. Assuming we'd be looking at an actual transfer this time rather than loan, where does that leave Barry? We've struggled to get him involved as much as I'd like, but he's got a great turn of pace, desire to carry the ball to the byline (as shown a couple of times at Swansea), and a will to shoot from range that we don't really see from anyone else not named Gus Hamer. Diaz meanwhile would be more of a second striker playing off the left - would require the midfield to play him into goalscoring positions to get the best out of him.

I think there's a world where having both Barry and BBD allows us to be unpredictable in that LW position, but it runs the risk of one (or even both) of them getting frustrated by a lack of gametime. Would be good to have the competition for places, but it could prove to be a double-edged sword.

He was poor last season and where does he exactly fit in? We dont have the money to be signing 50 players and ex blades.

And you saw him how many times playing for Blackburn ? I think I’ll stick to information from someone who watched him week in,week out.
The guy himself (BBD) said last season that he’s only played on the right a handful of times in his career!
When he tore us a new one in the FA Cup semi where was he playing… on the left! When he looked amazing in a poor side for us in the prem where was he playing… on the left!
I’m sorry… but the info your mate has given you is inaccurate

Over 200 games as a striker or left winger.

50 as a right winger, half of them probably for us.

He says himself he’s least comfortable playing off the right
