The state of reporting on lower-league matches has long been in decline, but the description of our first goal in the BBC match report bears little resemblance to reality! 😂

"Foderingham's long punt forward was flicked on"?
"Ndiaye sprayed a pass out to the right"?
"McAtee ran on to steer home right-footed"? 😂😂😂

There's more factually incorrect than correct in that report. Typifies the state of the BBC. It won't last more than a couple of years should it ever have to survive by itself financially.

They've gone for N'Diaye putting the ball across for the third too. He did well considering he was sliding in to get on the end of it! (It was Berge who put the ball across initially).

The details of matches have been consistently poor for a long time. It infuriates me they can't even get our players names right half the time. However it's still my go to for the footie results because I can't stand bastard adverts.

Meanwhile over on Sky Jeff Stelling said “let’s see what’s at happening at Hillsborough as Sheffield United take on Coventry” and didn’t correct himself after the update
Saintly Jeff, footballs Prince of Hearts, can do no wrong for me. Even if he went to work for the Star……

From the BBC

"Barring a big turnaround, the Clarets will be going 15 points clear of third-placed Blackburn"

EFL clearly want Burnley to win the league. How else would you explain them getting 7 points for a win?

The full article had us both 12 points clear of 3rd placed Blackburn, before kick off. 🤦‍♂️

The bbc has not been fit for purpose for a couple of years. It needs defunding and people really need to lead that process by not buying a license.

It's good to know that everyone is shit. Makes me feel better about my own performance at work

Was it written by a staff reporter or was it provided to them by the PA as most reports are?

I don't know the answer to your question other than the BBC did cut down on regional staff a few years ago but either way, it shows incompetency.

Basically means that there is no one in the editorial process that knows what the top of the Championship table looks like.

Quite often find these reports have wrong details in - not sure how but obviously someone isn’t checking them .

We've been next to the press tonight, they'd got 2-1 drafted as the final score about 10 mins after they scored, we weren't so confident..

It's a shit trick though to split the crowd.. Managing the away fans to minimise impact when they're under pressure.

Still 3 points is 3 points..
