I thought today that Baxter was beginning to show real potential , he is not only taking over the McD. role of controlling play with his passing, he is also showing that little something that McDs.contribution lacked, he is scoring goals !!

He's the only one in the side who looks like scoring or looks like creating goals.

I don't wish to take the piss, but was there any point where you thought, Baxster, that doesn't look quite right?

With a run in the side he's showing his worth.

Only player that can score a goal at the moment.

Brandy and Cuvelier need consistent runs in the team now.

Cueliver is no better than what we already have and Brandy apart from a decent debut has been generally poor. I would leave them to force their way in, or preferably get rid in Jan

Cuvelier hasn't done much, I'm not sure what we plan to do with him.

Think Brandy actually had a decent run and was consistently our MOM about 4 games in a row in September, today's team majorly lacked pace and trickery, exactly what Brandy provided. He is an idiot, and let himself and the team down with his petulance, but I think he is worth one absolute final chance to add something a little different to our attack

Does the OP mean that when he leaves, everyone will say "he wasn't that good anyway, I always said he was shite" whilst the standard of play plummets to Mariana Trench levels of awfulness?

To quote The Pinch "only in S2 etc etc..."

Why, after writing off Baxter earlier in the season, are people continuing to write off Cuvelier? Baxter when Weir was in charge only had fragmented appearances here and there which resulted in poor performances. Cuvelier has had it even worse. Now with a run in the side, Baxter looks excellent and Cuvelier has the potential to do the same.

Brandy is a slightly different kettle of fish, but he can still make something happen. Certainly more than a couple of players who are starting at the moment anyway.

The bloke sat behind me slagged Baxter off all game for not doing enough.

If it makes you feel any better people used to slag Edwards off for being lazy. Shows what people actually know.

Cuvelier was very good and well thought of at his last club so given a run and a bit of confidence, he may come good and save old Nige a bit of dosh in January.

Possibly wait until Diego gets back to fitness and then we have 2 fancy foreign sounding players. Attendances will soar.

Brandy should know better by now although he does bring us pace and tricks.

I just think how many more chances do you give him?

Agreed, amazing how some people write players off so quickly when they should clearly be able to see how much better some are now performing.

Sure Cuvelier will get his chance and it's up to him to take it. He has the ability but is still relatively young and he needs to adapt.

I don't like to judge anyone's performances under the previous manager as it was nigh on impossible to play within his system.

Baxter has started to look decent after some none performances. At this moment, I would still rather have Kmac.

That's the tip of the iceberg with this whiny nasal voiced knob.

The GCB is a shit song, sufc are all shit, whoever we are playing are always like Barcelona , Harry's too slow , long is crap, Baxter is there to set players up not score goals, did I mention SUFC are shit cos this bloke does every minute,in my ear , as though he's sat on my shoulder, like one of those angels and devils from the cartoons.

And breathe!!!

I thought Baxter was poor first half the other day, mind you they all were once Oldham scored

You sit near Metalblade then? :)

Think they're quite different as players.

McDonald's first touch is on a different level to Baxter's and his ball retention is much, much better.

Baxter is obviously more of a goal threat and I think he's more attacking with his passing - he attempted more through balls v Oldham than McDonald would have done in 3 months.

I have spent the last 12 months working in the Black Country & it's interesting to note that KMcD isn't that popular:
"Slow, idle and not committed" were some of the comments I heard.
Baxter looks ok for us & has improved with a good run in the side - he's definitely a better quality footballer than majority of our team - but still a tad unfit (hope it didn't have too much grub at Xmas!) But he is a different type of player to KMcD really, as others have said he will probably score more goals. But I still think we miss a commanding CM that can put his foot on the ball and spread play effectively, Baxter isn't as good in this role - IMO.

UTB
FTO

Think I'm being a bit unfair on Baxter to compare the two this early on, McD. was older and and more experienced plus he played for us over a longer period and along side different players.
I think it's going to take a season or so before we will really know how good a player Baxter is and how good he's going to be for us..
