Player Suggestion Batshyuai..?

I think that Batshyuai is one of those players that falls into the problem area of being signed to a wealthy club and thus the expectations are that he must be better than he actually is. Far from prolific, I think that goals scored since he joined Chelsea might not even reach double figures, which of course is dependent on the number of games played, but hardly impressive anyway. We're not the type of club who can gamble on a player who so far hasn't impressed no matter which club he's signed for.

We're now finding that signing a player is far tougher than we've previously experienced. The parameters are completely different in terms of being unable to keep a transaction quiet, and as soon as your interest in a player is known it activates the interest from other clubs, and the consequence of this is that we're then faced with the question of wages.....and we're well aware that we're at the lower end of the Prem pay scale!

I suspect that Wilder and his team are glued to the telephone in their search for quality additions, let's hope that he manages to add to what is currently a small but talented pool of players.

Batshuayi is a poor all round footballer. Would also cost a fortune. Sorry.

Reckon Alfred has a couple of good years left in him?

The lad is a terrific footballer and a rock solid goalscorer.

His stats are skewed by the fact he has come off the bench for Chelsea so late in games.

He had a poor spell at Valencia sandwiched inbetween 2 very impressive spells at Dortmund and Palace respectfully.

He would be an outstanding signing for us

Because he's not good enough, or because we can't afford him?

If it's the former... wow!

Chelsea fans do call him batshit tbf... and they are hacked off that he’s demanding astronomical wages! So to that end we can’t afford him anyway.

Hope you're right and that Wilder takes note of your enthusiasm for the player.

Yep, his wages don’t fit our championship model 🤣 ;)

Whatever model it is its working in my view 56! Its only our second season at this level and we've got the drop in earnings from covid and the need the improve the training ground. Not to mention the stadium. I don't think our model will stretch to signing players on wage that would blow our entire wage structure, and I think Batshyuai isn't worth breaking our wage structure for. Would rather players like Cash and Swift that have something to prove and won't cost the earth to come in.

The "how to make a millionaire sweat" question applies. Players sacrificing a god given talent for short-term gain and little progress, at the expense of a lifetime of personal achievement. What is the price to become a member of band of brothers?

Don't understand some of the negativity he would be a quality signing and also it would help us to attract a better quality of player signing a Belgium International.

Ah, I'd forgotten just how priceless the old "we've got a Belgian international in our side" can appear to the rest of football, perhaps you my piggy friend might wish to explain the specific attraction of signing Belgians, especially as we've already got one and up until now that magic formula doesn't seem to be working where transfers are concerned.

... what? on earth? are you on about? 🤣 🤣

Perhaps you should re-read your own posts......#34 you said "he'd be an outstanding signing for us", then the coin is flipped and in #40 it seems you think we've "No chance" of signing him. I happen to agree, I just wondered why you thought there might be a chance in the first place?

He would be an outstanding signing. So would Lionel Messi.
Not once did I say ‘he’s realistic and would be an outstanding signing’

Basically been a bit part player since 15/16. Obviously has ability but it'd be a risk like the Mousset signing was.

But 21 top level goals across 84 appearances (a lot as sub) in 3 leagues isn't nothing. And he was great in Belgium and France before that

I'd imagine he could get a team playing in Europe to take a chance on him. Wolves if Jiminez goes?

This is becoming a tad circular.....the absence of a couple of words doesn't negate my original conclusion, but I'm happy to let go if it suits?

You clearly don’t understand what words mean, that’s okay

Sky now reporting Palace are in talks with Chelsea over loaning Batshuayi. Does this put us closer to getting Brewster done now that’s presumably one less team looking at him?

If it saves us a chunk of money to spend on another striker, then it'd not a waste.
All I'm saying is there has to be better players available for loan then Burke. I don't think he will provide anything other than frustrations. I hope I'm wrong. But I do feel that Wilder has something special up his sleeve.
