No chance MOM but I'll give you great L1 utility player. Thought he was good today.

Played well today, he is a player who most top six league one teams would have in their match day sides.

That's his level.

Wasn't close to MOTM today though.

Seriously????

I'm not a massive fan of Bash Andy, I find him frustrating at times, but based on the whole 90 minutes , would have been MOM but for Duffs wonder show second half. Lot of praise heaped on Coutts & Fleck, who were steady enough first half, brilliant in the second, but agree with OP, Bashams performance was overlooked somewhat.

Not saying he didn't play well but giving MOM to a centre half when the opposition barely had an attack is pushing it a bit

He looks good amongst the likes of Duffy & Fleck who wouldn't ? He gives 100% though and if it's good for Chris it's good for me.

The first 15 minutes Swindon were well on top, and Basham played a big part in steadying the ship; after that the defence had it much easier, so he wasn't MOM, but he played a vital role, nevertheless.

Didn't go so can't comment much. Had to listen to the game on Swindon player as blades player had pigs on for some daft reason. Sounded like Duffy was the key man and the Swindon commentary mentioned how good he was on a few occasions. Duffy that is.

He's doing a very good job of what he should be doing at the club, stand in, utility player. Played ok yesterday but once Wright's fit, Wright comes straight back in as far as I'm concerned, the defence looks stronger and more balanced with JOC and EEL matching up with the oppo centre forwards and Wright as the spare man, organiser.

You don't think he had a good game ?

No, I don't.

On one occasion in the first half he was wildly out of position and we were saved by the offside rule and on another he put in one of his famous botched tackles, enabling their winger to still come away with the ball. A lot of goals we've conceded this season can be traced to calamities like that.
Not his worst performance don't get me wrong, but nowhere near man of the match, not by a long chalk.

Not quite MotM but I think the best of our back three yesterday. Based on those performances I'd say Basham deserves to keep his place and if Wright returns I'd drop JOC.

ahha...........The enigma called Basham.

first of all - MOM? IMHO, most fans would take their pick from Fleck/Coutts or Duffy - for me, Duffy - head and shoulders above anyone else.

A lot have said Basham slows the midfield down - he does, and we have all seen why we need to keep the "key" players fit, and the key players for me are Moore, Freeman, Billy and the midfield 3. They are absolutely vital to how we now play. The rest can be accommodated with others.

Basham is the best Utility player we have and possibly in the league although I wouldn't really know about other clubs. We know Bash can as he must have played 5 or 6 different positions for us. Does Basham hold down a regular position though? It appears as though CW puts him wherever needed and we should all applaud his versatility. He reads the game very well and will never let us down.

Have always been a fan, but we now have many more players that are above him in the pecking order in doind a specific job.

UTB

Yep though Bash was excellent yesterday, but to be fair they all played well

Good all round display. However, that's done with now and the most important game is the next one. We need to make sure we don't slip up at a ground that hasn't been that kind to us in recent seasons

Onwards and upwards

Funny how his best performances always come when he ain't playing in midfield.
