I'm a bit biased as Mrs SEB and family are from St Lucia, prettiest Island in the whole of the Caribbean. If it's the first time out there I'd recommend a cruise as you get to see several islands and get a bit of a taste and feel of them without the outlay of a two week break. We're on a cruise in December this year in the Caribbean.

Thanks for that

That's 1 thing on my list,to go to Barbados to watch England play cricket more so in a test match, once the twinnys have flown the nest that'll be me and other half,

Did the test there in 1998, Ramprekash and Thorpe both got centuries, day 5 rained off and finished a draw, although it was looking good for an England win. Bumped into McCabe and his entourage, didn't have a clue who he was at the time, later found out who he was, new temporary chairman after McDonald had resigned. Have a photo and will put it on here if I can find it.

If you get chance, get yer sen off, ground's completely changed but a top place to watch cricket. You'll no doubt bump into all the cricketers on St Lawrence Gap where all the bars are.

St Lucia is very nice, lush, green, very typically British Caribbean. Antigua is nice, a bit flat but beautiful Beaches, if you want to impress the missus I can highly recommend a premium beachfront room at Galley Bay, no kids, nice and quiet, I think it was 30 steps from my terrace to the sea . St Kitts is a bit shit, as is Tobago, bit of a dump, British Virgin Is. are nice (Tortola), very similar to St Lucia and a bit more unspoilt than the usual tourist spots. Barbados is good fun, I could highly recommend a week in Barbados and a week at Palm Is. (private island in the grenadines), not overly expensive and just a 40 min flight from Barbados.

Can't disagree with any of that. Martinique is nice, decent beaches. St Maarten is half Dutch, half French and the capital has a very Dutch feel to it, worth a visit just to go to Maho beach (Google it :) ) and the shopping is the best out there. Jamaica was a disappointment for me, if you want very quiet and small Grand Turk ticks those boxes. For a smaller more intimate version of St Lucia, try Dominica very lush, green and wonderful gardens with good beaches on the west coast.

Haiti is very nice too apparently. But doesn't have the same tourist appeal.
