I feel such a fool , still he's a nob
The bellend co-commentator was David Phillips who is an ex Norwich forward. May as well have been Delia doing it for the amount of impartiality he showed.

Garth Crookes team of the week, has George as a midfielder, but hey, some progress I guess.

Midfielders - George Baldock (Sheffield United), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), James Maddison (Leicester City), Son Heung-min (Tottenham)

George Baldock: I wasn't sure if it was George Baldock or George Best!
I thought I was seeing things when I saw Baldock drag the ball back, pirouette and strike a glorious shot past Tim Krul. The finish - not to mention the skill - was superb along with Sheffield United's performance.
Blades fans have been telling me I've been a little hard on their team recently and not giving them the credit they deserve. How many players do they expect in my team of the week?
It's a trap!

Just the four Sheffield lads in that team, and Enda too! Don’t think as a city we’ve ever produced so many top level players as we are doing nowadays.
Dronfield isn’t Sheffield.

I was half expecting that, it’s near enough for me though and many of the residents see themselves as Sheffielders. You are of course correct in what you say.
I know many Dronfield residents consider themselves Sheffielders which is why I like to remind them they’re not.

;)

I had no doubt that Baldock would make the step up, not just saying that. However he's taken to it even more so than I thought, deffo one of the better full backs/wing backs. On the other hand, as good as he is, I don't see an England call up forthcoming. Trent Alexander-Arnold's younger, playing for Liverpool and already has England caps. Then there's still Kyle Walker too, and he's playing well for City. That's just two, there's probably a couple more I've missed. That's not trying to do down Baldock I'm just trying to be realistic. I would love to see him play for Greece, I still got a Greece shirt I bought in 1998 with the letters B O R B O K I S on!

I thought he was brilliant tonight. On several occasions he used he body to win and keep the ball. Great play. Showing such desire to get a keep the ball.

Completely agree. I love how wound up he gets when he doesn't win it or receive the pass he wants. He's a winner.

Another nudge on this. He's going under the radar a bit but fuck me what a player. His improvement this year has been the most drastic from last year.

I remember last season / season before, difference between him and Freeman was negligible but this season hes just been a beast.

Fast, skillful and a bit of a shithouse, blades legend in the making.

There was a fifty fifty with Baldock and one of their players yesterday. As Baldock went in (fairly) the only thing I was wondering was not whether George would win the tackle but how long their guy would be down for.

Chuffing Derbyshire, midlands not proper north

Gorgeous George is player of the season for me so far. It’s tough but he’s developed so well, he was one of the main players I had concern about stepping up but he keeps getting better and better. The passion he shows is fantastic and you can see how much it genuinely means to him.

It’s a shame England have so many good right backs at the moment.

If he goes the season without a red card or a suspension I’ll be even more amazed cause he does get angry at times.
