Unless we have a replacement lined up immediately other than Robertson who seems to me to be an option to bring in whilst Bogle rehabs then I wouldn’t sell. It would leave us without a senior rightback and strengthen a promotion rival. I don’t want to be playing Watford with them having Baldock and us having Broadbent.

It’s a conundrum - he is still a very effective player at this level, he was like a man possessed in the away leg of the playoffs. On the one hand whilst Bogle is injured, it would be madness to consider selling. However, when Bogle is fit his superior attacking output means Baldock is unlikely to be in the side and can we really afford to turn down serious £ for a backup fullback? Also, would Baldock be happy to play second fiddle at his age and as a recent international? Doubtful.

As Yogi said, any sale would surely need an ample, reliable replacement to have been signed.

Good squad building is selling players before they start to decline and crucially lose value, or when wages and ability diverge.

Over the last few years, Stevens is the example of holding onto a player for too long. Now he’s out of form, on large wages and possibly 3rd choice at LWB

Not saying George is necessarily over the hill, but Bogle is a better player with a much higher ceiling.

Depending on Bogles injury, now might not be the right time but I’d certainly look at this in the next 12 months - based on Bogle becoming first choice

He’s fuckin crap ,get rid and gerra grip
About 3 decent crosses and 2 goals in a thousand chances. Terrible player. Not fooling me with his false intensity,he’s wank .
Oh ok, and let's play Osborn there instead, who's even more WANK!, what a fuckin fantastic idea!

I'd have sold last season (also Stevens, Fleck, Moose and maybe Egan for the right money): big wage off the wage bill and a significant fee at this level to reinvest (rumoured 5 million) in a younger, cheaper alternative. This is good squad management. Predictably now his value has gone down but his contract length is still fairly significant. He's started to pick up a lot of niggly injuries and his performances have dropped off quite significantly since the pre relegation Wilder years. Even at 2 million it deserves due consideration if the right replacements are on the market.

Everton have reportedly made £16million defender Nathan Patterson available for loan to Championship clubs.

He's the leader of this team and one of only 2/3 guys that I'm 100% certain are up to task in the PL.
Pretty sure we have a 1 year option on his deal which expires in June 2024 so hopefully this mitigates the risk of a sale.

However, if we are going to sell (and we may well do) I hope the club learns from the Ndiaye shambles and get their replacement deal done first.

For those reasons clubs won’t be willing to spend much on him. And for that reason it’s not worth selling him given his importance to the team.
United will have a set value on him. It won't take into account "importance to the team". It won't be loads. If it's met they'll sell.
