Today again proved that Anels best position seems to be in the centre of a back 3, as much as I love Egan and how much he's done for the club in recent years his form has been 'patchy' at best so far this campaign.
How to get Bogle and Baldock in the same starting line up has also always been a dilemma for us. Pushing Anel to the centre with George at RCB would not only allow Anel to play in what is seemlingly his best position but also get Bogle and George in the same team. If nothing else, it might give Egan the impetus to up his game knowing there's some genuine competition and other options for us at the back.
One obvious concern would be decreasing the ariel dominance of the back 3, but with Robbo/Trusty, Anel, Souza and McBurnie in the side we do have plenty of height in the team anyway.
I'd be interested to hear others thoughts on this, I'm absolutley not suggesting Egan needs to be dropped but it might be worth exploring options to increase the effectiveness of the players around him. Many seem to be convinced that RND would make a great LCB and George seems to have very similar attributes (workrate, engine, defensive cababilities but lacking attacking end product) but George at RCB doesn't get mentioned anywhere near as much. Makes sense to me especially as we have a good player in Bogle (when in form) on the bench.
