back where we started

I probably hate the "slashers" as much as you do, but I think you're sounding a bit silly at the other extreme.

I'm somewhere in the middle. Chuffed to bits with what Wilder has done so far and our current league position, have faith he's the right man going forward, but not going to deny I have concerns about some of our performances recently, compared to how we started the season. Here's hoping we can get it back on track soon and nick that 6th spot.

thats where we should be
maybe I am a clapper but the over reacion to one shit display is going well overboard
I was livid at the final whistle on Friday, with the total no show by the full set of players
again Im sat in front of my tv screaming obsenaties at our wasting one opportunity to get in the top 6

but theres still 13 games left for us to put it right

yes me might have peaked , but the time to succumb to those thoughts are if theres no reaction in the final 13
I can always accept a defeat if we put in a shift , friday was one of 5 games where weve not applied ourselves to an acceptable level and was the worst so far
other results gave us a get out of jail free card
after some of those other defeats we have shown a reaction and I fully expect Knill and Wilder to ram that home
we would be fools not to at least give it go

Apart from the bottom line you sound very similar to what Wilder basically said on Friday night. :)
that was his raw emotion directly after the match
now hes seen other results, and had a couple of Peronis , he will be lighting the fires today in training

For me there are no leaders in the pitch
The captain's armband is being shared between two guys who never seem to talk to anyone never mind guide or bollock them

I don't see anyone in that team who takes responsibility and drives us on when we are struggling

That's what we need

Agreed and it's no good giving the armband to a striker, ideally it needs to be somebody in the thick of it, central midfield or a defender (not wing back they are too busy).
And it needs to be somebody who is an extension of the manager's authority on the pitch so must understand the manager implicitly.

This lack of leaders point , is at odds with who Wilder brought in, most had been team captains at their respective clubs
at least 8 of our squad have worn the arm bands

but do agree Billy cannot influence the game like a central defender or defensive midfielder could
forwards and keepers as captains never really works long term

A captain has to be able to see everything on the pitch so a very vocal goalkeeper would be ideal but a CB is not far off perfect either.

only goalie I remember being any good as captain was Dino Zoff of Italy , but that was probably most Italian players never ventured outside their penalty box
