Cheers Chris, back to league 1 we go..

I can’t even with this club.. over and out for me with this club.

Depressed as fuck
It isn’t his fault.

Look, I was against him coming back yet again.

But who else would it have been?

What if we had approached the names mentioned? And what if they’d told us to fuck off.

We are a clusterfuck, but despite my reservations, Wilder is back. Maybe he thinks he can turn this round, but I don’t think he can, I don’t think anyone can.

We are an investment vehicle, nothing more, nothing less.

And because they still owe the prince some money, they’re offering him a place back on the board.

We’d be better off digging Reg Brealey up.

My club, your club, is a fucking commodity.

Fuck them and fuck the horse they rode in on

Maybe we just need to accept what we are, which is mediocre. For the last 8 years we have been at or around our natural ceiling. In the modern era we are a traditional Championship club that has the odd season in the PL and will occasionally spend some time in L1. We have never had the money to establish ourselves in the PL and we have failed to modernise in the way that other clubs have. Every now and then we will overachieve for a while and equally we will have periods of relative disaster. But our size and structure means that sooner or later we will always end up back in the Championship. Unless something fundamentally changes with regards to money or a complete overhaul and restructuring of how the club operates (and even those things aren’t guaranteed to change it because too many clubs have overtaken us and left us well behind) this is pretty well how its going to continue. We either make our peace with that and try to enjoy the ride wherever it may take us at different times or we condemn ourselves to the unhappiness of wishing we were something that we aren’t and are unlikely to become.

Very sensible and well thought out comments. Totally agree with you

Nothing will change. Not really change. It's all so superficial and pointless
Mate seriously, do something not blades related tomorrow.

I’m off to see my lad play for Lord Nelson weather permitting.

Football as I’ve always known it

Its just football people. As in life, there’s them as ave and them as aven’t. We’re a grafting working class club - allus have been and allus will be. Not for us the glittering prizes but I’m ok with that. I just want to enjoy life in the world of upper championship and the occasional PL season (but without the humiliation of last time please). It would be so nice to just have an ownership team and a manager that could deliver that.
And don’t give me any “no ambition” shit. We are what we are so, unless we are bought by a Saudi outfit (god forbid) that is what we will remain.
