Since JOC/Bash missed the last 2 games the defence has looked rock solid. I'm not suggesting we drop those when available to return but could it be down to the fact that we are not bombing on as much from CB positions? Cranie/Stevens have gone forward at times but not nearly as much as JOC/Bash do, could it be that late goals conceeded could be down to fatigue? The last 2 performances have been relatively text book led by the wall (John Egan) we just seem really solid and don't look as though we are going to conceed. Maybe when JOC/Bash come back in they are told to bomb on a little less? We have still created lots of chances and look like scoring every time we go forward so do we need them to bomb on so much and expend so much energy?

Interesting op. Certainly not the case at Villa where it was down to individual errors.

When watching on sky I play a drinking game based on how many time the commentators and pundits say ‘overlapping centre backs’ - I’m usually hammered before kick off ;)

I've finally had enough. See my signature below:

JOC WALKS back into the team. Enda back to LWB. It’s not even an argument. But it’s nice to know we have a dependable alternative.

The conversation about Cranie and Basham is another one though. He’s really impressed me in the last 2 and it’s hard to drop him. Offers something different to Bash, not the lung busting overlapping runs or aerial threat but he’s got great ball control and he’s technically handy
