Unfortunately, the police in their wisdom decided to order the official away coaches to move ten minutes away from where we had been dropped off. It wasn't easy for dozens of people including young, old and disabled finding their way when most don't know the area well. The officials on the coach were excellent in helping people and were blameless in this. Unfortunately one young lad who must have been a teenager didn't turn up and the coach had to leave without him. He might have found himself in some difficulty if he hasn't the means to get back.
Hopefully it worked out ok for him ,but I hope this is raised with either West Brom or the police

That sounds very bad. Surely the idea of official coaches is that the whole process is well organised and not picking up from the dropping off point sounds ridiculous. Even if you've been there before it wouldn't necessarily be easy to find the coaches after the match. If a teenager (or anyone for that matter) was left behind that's inexcusable

Didn’t they tell you at drop off that the collection point would be different to the drop off point?

That was has happened when I’ve been in that situation when using the coaches. It’s always helpful if you ask the police/stewards who can point you in the right direction.

They thought we would be collected around the same place, it was after we had been dropped off that they were advised the coaches would have to move

That’s odd because the coaches are usually all lined up after the game at that spot on Middlemore road aren’t they? I’ve never used them but they always seem to be there

Hope the youngster is ok and everything goes smoothly

We passed a few, on our way for the tram, who had missed the coaches to the left of the walkway and had followed those going for trains/trams. The stewards and police had just turned them round and sent them back.

I guess I passed the same few that Foxy did on the only obvious way out back to the A41

Yes they've always been there previously, I don't know what the issue was today with them being there.

To clarify, I didn’t mean they’d missed the coaches setting off, but that they’d not seen the coaches. They’d have likely made it back in plenty of time assuming they didn’t go off course again 🤣

We went on the official coaches today, and after the match ours was where it dropped us, lined up with a long queue of others. But we heard folk being directed round the other side of the ground to find theirs, when they’d come back to where they’d been told to.

Poor, and concerning, if a teenager has been left behind. The one thing the official coaches should be is reliable and safe for fans travelling on their own who may not have the wherewithal to navigate unfamiliar places. Especially in the dark, in the pissing wet cold like today.

Hope they got home safe. Pisspoor if (stress on ‘if’) this was plod-led twattery.

Were your coaches on Middlemore Road where coaches are usually parked then? We were dropped off there but had to go to the other side of the stadium at the end of the game.

Yep. But we were on the first one parked up there (I think) before the game, close to the T-junction at the top.

Think there were 4 coaches today—or, there were 4 when we rocked up at the Lane at 9am. More may have arrived after?
