Hello fellow forumers,
For the past 15 years I've worked every other Saturday, meaning I only got to attend matches on the weekends I wasn't working (other than evening games). I've barely missed any homes I could get to, but haven't done an away match during that time, as my loyalty points are obviously low.
I used to go home and away before changing career. This decision was mine alone and I knew it would affect how many matches I could attend, but it also meant a better life for my family.
In April last year I bought the business I was working for and I'm now in the fortunate position of having employed someone to take on my old role full time, meaning I can work slightly less hours, but more importantly NO MORE SATURDAYS (GTFI). As a result I bought a season ticket for the first time in almost two decades - luckily, this coincided with us being in the PL (but I would have bought whatever league we were in).
My lad is 13 and has never been to an away match. I've been telling him for years that it's better than a home fixture (more often than not) and that I'd try and get us to one this year.
I don't care which match it is, glamorous or not, Anfield or Carrow Road, I really don't mind. If anyone ever has any spares I would be extremely grateful if you'd give me a shout.
It would mean the world to me and him if I could take him to an away game.
Regards,
Idleurchin
