Anyone heading down to buy it tomorrow? Look forward to strutting my stuff in it down at Pitz on Saturday!

Man Utd fan in DIY shirt horror....

I was in Crystal Peaks yesterday and all I saw in the 10 minutes I was waiting for our lass to get some birthday cards was feckin pig shirts. I didn't see one Blades shirt either home or away we really have dropped a huge bollock with the shit home kit and compounded it with a fairly average away kit that has only been in the shops a few days before the season starts.

Exactly, think the club have dropped a bollock with the kits. Old Phippsy needs to have a look at the merchandise side of things big style.

Whether it's Adidas pulling the strings or the club, kids want their new kits to wear on holiday. Never mind fannying around with shitty releases in orchard sq, get the kit out there before the preseason tour... Even if it's shit

Either that. Or, Crystal Peaks is full of tramps

I was in Crystal Peaks this morning and I saw one fella in a new SUFC home shirt and a guy in a Leicester polo shirt.

No pigs fans in town.

I was at Bramall Lane on Sunday and I saw lots of people in Blades shirts. Also one twat in a Man Utd polo.

Spot on. Strongly dislike the home kit, goes against our traditions and generally isn't a blades shirt. The away kit is ok i suppose but they ruined that one with how late they released it. If you've got a moment, compare Sunderland's home kit of this season with ours of last year and this year, so much classier and professional, even though we're in league one we should be doing better than we are with the kits.

The thing is most Blades fans identify with a shirt of Red & White stripes not this poor excuse of a 125 commemorative shirt that is a year late anyway, and other local clubs have had their new away kits in the shop for weeks if not months. Just who is the Commercial director at the lane ? didn't it used to be Andy Daykin wonder where he went to ?

I took delivery of my new home shirt today, it's a lovely looking item and I am very pleased with it, will wear it with pride.

HB Jnr is not a fan at all. Won't have one, but will have the away shirt.

How divisive one shirt can be. Mind you, we have agreed to disagree (probably because I pay for the shirts)

It is a very nice shirt but it is NOT a Sheff Utd home shirt, then again I will never buy any shirt that has John Holland Sales or DBL logistics adorning it.

You said what I didn't get round to... it's not the shirt I would have chosen to represent us at home, but after much deliberation I decided that I would wear it. And it IS a nice shirt, just not...

WHF Jr Sr (age 16¼) really likes the home kit, so it's not a general generational dislike.

The kit is modelled on our first kit (or something like) and the badge is modelled on our first badge (or something like) isn't it?
What were the colours of the shirt in which most of our history and heritage was built?

That'll be red and white stripes, hence going against our traditions.

It's a commemorative shirt, marking the clubs 125th anniversary by modelling it on the first kit we wore, hence respecting our history and tradition. Which is better than not doing anything.

Plus it's for one season.

How is it respecting the tradition when there's no meaning behind it for the fans? All of our history and heritage was built wearing the red and white stripes.

A better thing to do would have been to have the traditional red and white stripes, with a little slogan underneath our current blades badge or on the back of the collar honouring 125 years. Not a drastic change of kit to one which no fans can relate to in terms of our history.

But there's plenty of meaning in it when you look at the clubs origins.
If it was a permanent change then I'd be pissed off but it's not, obviously I prefer the blades badge and stripes myself but this is a nice acknowledgement, which is why I've bought it, it's something unique which we won't see again.

Amazingly, even though we aren't playing our home matches in the usual red and white stripes, the world is still turning. There's some solace to take from that whichever way you view the home shirt.

For the record, I love it.
