Alright chaps, where's the best place for away fans to drink around the ground? Before Christmas we'd sold 1700 of our 1790 tickets so I don't know if we'll get anymore or whether it will be POTD? Sure there will be a lot of Wilder love emanating from the away end all afternoon.

Haven't scrolled through responses so many/all may have been said but the so called "designated away pubs" we are told to pass along are The Albion (London Road), The Beer Engine (Cemetery Road), The Royal Standard (St. Mary's Road). There SHOULD be someone meeting fans off the coach/loitering around the away end to direct people if they need it.

Safe travels!

I don't know where you've got this from but this is bullshit. You can't get any more Bladey than the Albion on a match day.

That's what I thought .

I know London Road isn't as potentially dangerous for away fans as it was a few years ago ...... but to guide away fans up there ??????

Really? I'm not sure the away fans are listening!

From working for the club...whether the fans actually go there is up to them. Just one that we're told to advise when meeting fans.

How about the rising sun at nether green, ask for the Snowman, say 23,482 and you might get five free pints, mind you that would be after the game, however tell him you are Sean beans tattoo and you might get lucky.

I don't think that is very kind! In addition I wouldn't want that ruffian sullying my bar stool thank you.

Don't you bleeding dare send the away fans upto the Beer Engine, I don't want it any busier than it already gets, I do like to get served.

If I see them in there i'm going to be taking sachets of Tomato Ketchup and Mustard with me and the fuckers are getting it big time. :)

Unless they're opening early just for the game, many pubs won't open till 12pm.

I know the Sheaf View at Heeley is opening at 10.30am

It certainly is mate. There's a nice one in the Railway but I can't remember what they call it, I will try and find out tomorrow if I get chance, unless it comes to me in a bit!

Railway have had quite a few on recently pal, last one was Two Magpies Stout from Chantry Brewery in Rotherham, I think

Also, I think young Jack (Railyway) is the youngest landlord in Sheffield? His dad, Andy, is the bloke in glasses who collects the glasses and helps behind the bar on busy days.

Just go in the railway which is on Bramall Lane near your stand. I always go in there and see away colours now and again. It's only a tiny place but you can get served quick enough.

Well. Seen a few fans dotted around in recent times when low attendance/no trouble expected (which is preferable to having bouncers insisting you have a weekday pass). That said, there's a bit of difference in expecting it to go off without trouble with 5 Bristol Rovers fans in the bar and a coach full of <whatever team>.

Not really an away pub, and neither is The Beer Engine (not because of the type of support you'd meet there, more the area), and certainly not The Albion!

Why did they only give you 1790? You'll be swimming in empty seats as the BL upper tier holds 3,000 and the lower tier (if they ever open the chuff) holds another 3k.
The Howard outside station is always an away fans favourite.......10 minute walk to ground.

I believe 1790 is always the initial allocation given to away clubs.
It's the centre blocks in the away stand, fans grouped together making it easier to steward.

If we gave NT the full 3,000 then their fans could be scattered all over, making it harder to steward.

Not saying this is still accurate, but as of yesterday, it looks like they sold somewhere just under (or just over) 1600, so not the full allocation.
