As mentioned in the other thread, we plan on feeding back our experiences at away grounds so that these can be shared with the Supporter Liaison Officers at other clubs.

When travelling away, please think about:

* Ticket pricing
* Information available before travelling
* Ease of travelling to the ground - parking, public transport etc.
* Sign-posting around the ground
* Staff - ticket staff, stewards. Friendly and welcoming? Power-mad arseholes?
* Policing
* Facilities in the ground - toilets, catering etc.
* Seating - good? poor?

If you have any particular comments, please let us know the game you attended and as many specific details as possible so that these can be passed on.

Cheers

Policing and stewarding is always excessive, often with no good reason. Often you see them huddling together by turnstiles just chatting happy to pick up a wage or telling people to sit down, yet if something happens around the corner from the ground they're nowhere to be seen (police I'm referring to here).
Ones that stick in the mind are Crewe and Gillingham.
The amount of police and stewards outside the turnstiles at Crewe was unreal. Its not as if we're known for causing trouble and we have no beef with Crewe.
At Gillingham there were arguments and wind-ups between Blades fans and one particular home fan yet the Blades were ejected and nothing happened to the home fan with no good reason for doing so. This is replicated time and time again (and no doubt at the Lane too as I've seen away fans ejected that 'probably' didn't warrant such action).
Bottom line is treat football fans like ordinary people and with respect, and not like prisoners being transferred from one Nik to another. However this is a battle we've been losing for many many years and I don't hold out much hope it'll change.

Thanks, and hats off, to the steward in the away end at Oldham last week who left the ground to buy us a programme from a seller in the car park when the kiosk on the concourse had sold out. What a gent. Barnsley it wasn't,

Contrast to my experience, when they hadn't a clue as I asked if there were any sellers in the ground and did little to help. I ended up getting one when a seller wandered around during the first half.

I stopped buying them after I forgot one week and we won ,maybe I need to start again. That and the rows at home when the 2009 programme for 'Shrewsbury' couldn't be found and I accused Mrs Sitwell of throwing everything I own out almost escalating into divorce :rolleyes:

Only get em away and mine go straight into the collection and most of the time don't even get a cursory read. Still, I'm sure there are worse habits.

Went through a phase for about 4 or 5 years where I bought a programme at every game I went to and for a couple of seasons even from games I didn't go to. Bought those folders from The Lane too to put them in.

Never read them though and realised when I moved from a house into a flat that they were a complete and utter waste of money so threw the lot.

I've probably got that somewhere it you want it back in your collection.
