With The Blades about to splash the cash for some new players I'm just wondering how we can attract the players to The Lane.

Players like Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson at Hibs are being chased by a huge list of clubs if you believe the press.

What is it about Sheffield than can attract them??

Is it the Sheffield area we can use, as well as cash, or is it stuff like Hendersons Relish??

:D :D :D

I might be just biased and missing the home comforts.

Hendo's
Proper fishcakes
breadcakes
Decent Black Pudding.
Proper Pubs
The language as it should be spoken
Curd Tarts
Yorkshire Puddings done properly
Parkin
Seabrooks crinkly salt and vinegar

If that isn't enough, come and join us in laughing at Scummy L**ds. All decent football people couldn't refuse that :D

There are some players who seem to avoid London and southern clubs throughout their career, Keith Gillespie springs to mind - Manchester United, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and then the Blades.

Other players don't seem to want to be away from London for long - Paul Ifill would prefer a move back down South if he were to leave the Blades.

I don't know what would attract players to Sheffield (reasonable house prices maybe?) but I know what would put them off:

Shit roads with too many speedbumps to ground their sportscars on
The Moor and all the "people" on there most days
Not many poncey shops for their wives to spend their money in - Harvey Nicks, Selfridges etc.

Castle Market.

Smells of fish but you can't have get hold of some nice tomato sausage.

I would hazard a guess that no member of the first team has ever been in Castle Market and I only wish I could say the same!

Another to add to the list of attractions... the poncey bars on Ecclesall Road seem to be a major draw for some :)

The amount of Chavs in Sheffield would put me off if i were a footballer tbh.

Its money, simple.

Not completely true. If Johnny Foreigner were offered 30k a week by us and 30k a week by Man U, who do you think they'd go to?

You wouldn't wanna park your fancy car anywhere.

You get chavs everywhere though... Liverpool was terrible but they can attract players :)
