I watched it via MUTV, on hooky Satellite ;)

It did grind at first, but towards the end of the match, there was some begrudging acknowledgement from the commentator that MUFC had been given a good game, and the Pundit co-commentating (whoever it was) was almost complimentary about the Team.

It is their channel afterall

Wasn't it Lou Macari?

Quite simply the best one yet...

There were three Irish players involved in the first leg semi final of the FA youth cup as Manchester united and Sheffield played out a 2-2 at Bramall Lane.

30,000 people attended the game including Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in the director’s box watching the next crop of youngster’s to come off the old Trafford production line. United will now be favourites to win the cup with the second leg due to be played next Monday.

Defender Michael Keane started for United and played the whole game, Keane whose father hails from Dublin and has featured for Ireland’s under- 17 team, was joined in the line up by his twin brother Will, who has decided to throw his lot in with the England youth set up.

It was Will who grabbed the headlines as he scored United second goal on 70 minutes meanwhile 6ft 1” goal keeper, 17 year old Joe Coll, who hails from Donegal, home of Shay Given and Packie Bonner, was on the bench for United.

The third Irishman involved in the night’s action was young Dublin defender Aaron Barry who played for Sheffield United. The 18 year old was formerly with Arklow Town in Bray.

I watched a steadily getting worse picture from MUTV and was amazed how fair the commentators were. Yes they kept saying United but were very complimentary about the Blades and both kept repeating that thier first goal was never a goal

Agree considering it is a partisan channel. My favourite was "the only bad thing about this game is that it's got to end, it's been a pleasure to watch", can't recall many comments about a blades performance like that recently.

True. I thought the two Mancs were ok and thank God it wasnt some squeaky voiced git like Terry Christian.

Although the Manc commentators were clearly homers they were quite fair, they were clearly head and shoulders above Seth.

God, the comments-argument on the guardian report turned in to a joke. Im a big fan of the poster 'Olly1889' who suddenly interjected into the pointless debate with "Ssssllllleeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!"

You're all making a fuss about nothing it's always been the same. Man United the world over have always been "United" like Man City have now become "City".

Move on

UTB

They kept calling them 'United' and us 'Sheffield' on Radio Five. I expressed my displeasure via twitter.

It's the "Sheffield" thing that gets on my tits to be honest. Why not just refer to us as the Blades, that's a far more ITK thing to call us as it would almost intimate that you have a clue who we are and what you're talking about.

Journos are tits, simples :fatbastard:

Can we have the Fatty Samuel icon on here please? But what to use it for? When referring to a fat bastard? A Piss poor journalist? (altho a Louise Taylor would suffice for that) or just a retard?

I've just realised it's on here. Therefore does it have one defined meaning or multiple?

I was told today by a Man U supporting colleague when discussing this..'try being good and see if more people call you United then'...

We should send the Guardian scribbler a note to say how many fans we're taking to the game and to make it clear we're going to watch the Blades play a team from Salford... well based in Salford but from all corners of the world.

100% respect to the blades fans who attended the lane for the youth game. 100% respect to the youth team. Proud to be a blade !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
