Attention wrist slashers

I once got in from a night out absolutely pissed at 3am and ordered about £15 worth of nosebag on Just-Eat.

The only problem was I ordered for collection, the takeaway was 6 miles away and I fell asleep straight after I ordered it.

Chris Wilder said last week that things would be hotting up after the weekend and into this week regarding transfers, nowts happened.

He might have been misquoted, probably meant the weather.

True but there aren't many clubs with no centre halves...first pre season friendly should be interesting with Reed and Flynn at centre back...now there's a proper slasher comment for you !

as long as we have 2 centre backs to go to Bolton with it matters not a jot

The fault lies with the club - it's another in a long list of Sheff Utd PR disasters.....

Wilder stated he wanted all his new signings done by the time pre-season training started (today) - it's not difficult really, if it ain't going to happen don't say it.

Adkins kept saying last season wait for the January transfer window - it's not difficult really, if it ain't going to happen don't say it

Game changing investment - McCabe stated that this would preclude us from having to sell our best young players like Harry Maguire - it's not difficult really, if it ain't going to happen don't say it.

I could go on.
Adams 3 weeks in, will be sold this coming season.

The thing is this pre season is following the pattern of the last five, same old promises, same old excuses, same old failure to deliver on time is there any wonder fans start getting a little twitchy. Same old threads started by happy clappers with titles to provoke a reaction from so called slashers, not to worry though the laws of averages say one day the clappers will get it right and the club will show a bit of ambition.
Meanwhile up at the Shirecliffe training ground the players are put through their paces ................................

Pinching Ronnie Koeman's joke from 2 years ago!

The pizza place that I order from always quotes me 40 mins for delivery, but they usually arrive in 25 mins.

If they don't turn up after half an hour I get impatient and wonder how long it has to bloody take. Then they actually arrive on time.

Then I feel like a silly cunt for thinking they were late when it actually came on time..........

Once maybe, but every time?

There's nothing wrist slasher like about predicting what is likely to happen at this football club.

Sadly it's far too easy to do because we seem to do the same thing every season.

Early promises....say things will be different then only a few short weeks later it's already not going to plan. And it's no surprise we then have folk apologising and making excuses.
Contracts might not end til end of June, but this doesn't stop a club announcing players having already arranged to sign.
In fact I believe Duffy was exactly that...it completes on 1st July.

Facts are this....we are 7players short of what we need...not my number but that given by the manager. Players are returning to pre season this week, and we don't have those players in or seemingly even close. We therefore run the risk of completing signings days before Bolton....or quite likely for this club several weeks after the season start.

During that time we will get the same excuses....we tried...just missed out...won't rush til we find the right player....blah blah blah!!

And by then we will have given our rivals a decent head start to promotion. It boils my piss it really does.

This really. It's about managing expectations.

Wilder is now trotting out the same lines as other managers. "working hard behind the scenes" "trying to get things over the line"

I don't think Wilder is anything other than honest. But I don't think that's different to any other manager.

it's the joyful Board and their joyful incompetance.

So Wilder, like the previous incumbents, are spouting the board line but at the same time you think he's being honest?

Time for a bit of joined up thinking rather than wailing and a weeping in thread after thread ffs.

I believe he is genuinely trying to bring in the players he wants but he seems to be running up against the same difficulties other managers have had.

This is my worry. I've seen it repeated so many times with different managers. I hope I'm wrong.

Good lord ....... would you really want us to go to Bolton on the first day without even having a first 11 to play ???

So far we've got:

Long

Brayford gap gap Hussey

gap gap gap Duffy

Sharp gap

That team isn't going to come back with three points even with two CH's added ......

UTB & FTP

do you really really think we wont be adding to the squad
everyones on holiday
players coaching staff management

is it neccesary in mid june to have 24 players in place so a few panicky fans feel safe

Id expect at least 8 new players in by the big kick off
but not in the next week , maybe not in 4 weeks , but in the 6 weeks till it matters why even begin to worry about whos on the roster
panic like mad if its the same on August 4th
but I very much doubt it will be

Wait till we beat the cheese eating surrender monkeys on sunday , country will grind to a halt if they win then . :)

Just out of interest, why would you call the French "Surrender monkeys"?

The Simpsons.

It's a cartoon show on a televisual device that sits in your home and receives signals via means of an antenna.

Don't worry, Catweasel didn't believe it at first.

Please wait until July 8th. Contracts starts after 1st of July. Many clubs are in the same situation as us
Then on 8th July we'll get told to wait until the end of the transfer window, keep up the blind optimism.

Totally understand where you are coming from, but I can't wait for us to sign someone so we can transition from fretting over non-signings and get back to the normal activity of arguing over how crap the actual signing are
