Attendance next season.

Easily. I think closer to 28k.

If not then I think the club will need to re-think it's pricing policy. Because another team in Sheffield are charging almost £200 a season more for a season ticket than us (for their best seats) - and last season they averaged 27k. United's lower cost pricing policy needs to be justified by having more fans through the turnstiles - if not, then they may as well take a slight hit on attendances and put prices up like Wednesday have done. I don't want to see us do that - so let's hope that the renewed enthusiasm around the place brings more and more supporters in.

Please stop !

But they won't! I've tried. The people you think don't exist are all around us! Have you not noticed them pining for Hoof in recent threads? Luckily one of us has our eyes open or they'd run riot...

You've posted the same stupid shit about 10000 times

I don't ,it's really boring

So are constant references to Bassett, refusal to talk about topics in case it 'sounds like the pigs', and a constant parochial yearning to be the Upanatem Underdogs. It's both tedious and embarrassing. Those are just the tip of the Bladey iceberg, by the way. There is a great deal more.

More bollox ?

More bollox ?

No. More accurate, albeit unwelcome to parochial Bladey Blades, observations. That's their (your?) embarrassment, not mine.

Did you see the 'Bring Back Hoof' thread recently, masquerading as "let's mix it up next season" or was that my imagination again?

That was someone winding you up , wish they wouldn't only so many different ways you can read the same post over and over again

The amoebae who were wanting to offer that utterly useless coach Morgan a job at our academy when he rightly got the sack from Chesterfield and just before he helped relegate Vale. Were they winding me up as well, or was it embarrassing Bladey nonsense? I think we need to know.

Extraordinary , some of you think averages of 22K ...been too long in the wilderness Lads, too long since you had attractive opponents , away fans in respectable numbers :) ..Derby Wednesday , Leeds , Sunderland , Villa , Forest and , so on ..average gates of 27,000 coming up easily ...

Indeed and thanks for the endorsement.

I would like to think 24-25K ourselves with decent opposition and 3K from the ones you have listed is more than achievable.

Looking forward more than anything to the banter and atmosphere that large away followings bring.

Not "done" Derby in a few years - although got to sit in the bloody corner now !!

McCabe's target is 18k season ticket sales. In April we were at 15k

Last rumour I heard was between 16k and 17k so by August McCabe may hit is target

I think we are looking at perhaps a 23k average attendance if the ST figures are correct, which would be 5k walk up on the day supporters

We've averaged virtually 22K this seaon with hardly any away supporters (only 5 teams out of 23 brought more than 1,000 supporters). The away support alone will see an extra 1,000 to 1,500 away supporters on average per game added to the gate.

So if we average 23K then it's actually a reduction in home numbers, surely you don't think our home support will affectively reduce?

I think it's nailed on we'll average around 25K no matter how we do.
If we do well we will average 27 to 28K.

If we don't hit the target will we have to sell Fleck?

Good point

I'd forgot that the Championship brings with it far more away fans. What a dork I am! :D

I believe last season we sold 13K season tickets, so If we sell 18K for this season then that's nearly a 40% increase.

13K for last season might seem low but you need to factor in our membership scheme.
Many (including me) never bothered with a season ticket, just got a membership card instead.

Bradford City have sold nearly 19K season tickets for next season, sounds impressive but that figure includes their membership scheme.

Last year Wednesday sold 21K season tickets, again seems impressive doesn't it?
But Wednesday have made match day prices so expensive that there is massive pressure on all their fans to buy season tickets. Even those fans that can only attend 50% of their games are buying season tickets, so always included in their attendance figures.

It's like blackmail. If we charged £40 a match but left season ticket prices the same as they are now.
Then no doubt we'd sell a few 1000 extra season tickets.

If United do well next year I can think of at least half a dozen matches where there will be difficulty getting a ticket. Keep in mind away allocation and segregation and you're looking at only around 6k available walk-up tickets for seat, even less if you don't fancy one of the infamous pillars blocking half your view.

Done a bit of research regards facts ans figures.

Last season the average away support at BL was 823
Average at Hillsboro where many fans boycotted due to expensive rip off pricing was 1,487.

Average home support only at BL was 21,069.
Can expect easily an average of over 2K away supporters due to lower pricing and many fans not been to BL for a while bumps the average up to 23K
And I reckon we'll average at least an extra 2K supporters minimum = 25K
