I’ve been going since the 70’s and every time we are underdogs our fans have thrived on it and been impressive.
The last time we were in the PL in 2007 Sky often bigged up the fantastic atmosphere at BL and away fans were always impressed too.

I’ve no doubts that Bramall Lane will be really rocking next season......and not a plastic clacker anywhere.

How we react to adversity, going behind and a good pasting will define our season and the mood / reaction of the fans. We know the atmosphere can be as good as anywhere but we also know how quickly things can turn, particularly if things don't go our way in games where we think we should be winning.

I think the atmosphere will be 78% nitrogen 21% oxygen the rest will be recycled gasses of beer and Man Friday's chicken curry and chips supplemented by red smoke bombs when we score. Oxygen levels may fall below 20% at HT when the weed smokers light up behind the kop.

I mean I do think it will be good next year, especially if we perform well. But then I thought last season it was still pretty quiet at times all things considered. It even took Wilder to specifically have to ask the crowd to get behind us several times. Now don't get me wrong, it was ok last season, but next season im expecting the derby boxing day atmosphere for pretty much every match.

I’ve always put it down to expectation and we tend to be a lot better as under dogs. If it’s terrible next year we may as well give up.

It should be better, but it won't be anything special. Those occasions are few and far between. The PL will quickly feel 'normal' and the atmosphere will reflect that.

Unfortunately we're totally reliant on the Kop and the people on there are getting more 'sit downy' by the year and the ones stood up hate joining in with each other. It will take a miracle to sort it out.

I do think we'll get 3 or 4 good games/halves because there'll be more to be angry about in the PL.

It’ll largely depend on how the season goes. If we slot in seamlessly then the atmosphere will probably remain the same. A few defeats and the need for some fighting spirit will raise it due to the underdog feeling.

When was the last season when we lost more home games than we won? Must have been the Speed / Adams relegation season. Many of today's fans are used to seeing us win most home games and could have unrealistic expectations in the PL. The meltdown after drawing with Millwall shows that some of our fans find it hard to look at the bigger picture. Even a 16th place finish might not be enough for some.

It will be as good as it was the last time we were there.
The Lane will be full every week which will help.
The fans will be up for it against the perceived "top" teams when we're the underdogs.
Whether we can create the same atmosphere against Bournemouth, Brighton, Southampton etc. remains to be seen.
I seem to remember Mourinho commenting on the Lane as a proper football stadium and atmosphere when we were last in the Prem. However as mentioned, this happens at a lot of the newly promoted teams (Stoke, Hudders, Burnley etc.) and the novelty eventually wears off.
As long as the boo boys and "gerrit forrard" brigade keep quiet, it'll be palatable.
Also expect some controversial VAR decisions to add a little spice...nothing kicks the Bramall Lane faithful into life more than a bit of injustice
