On many occasions in the past we might well have rolled over in a game such as this. Gaffers in this division are no mugs, all things said done Oxford are no mugs but never the less Appleton knew his back was up against it t'neet.
The had a game plan and quite frankly it appeared to create quite a scrappy affair, it became a bit if a scrap in the middle of the park and quite narrow. Oxford didn't appear confident enough to go toe to toe with us in terms of playing football and due to this they put it over the top frequently.....All in all I think it stifled us and prevented us from getting a good head start on them.
Despite being 1-0 down I honestly believe the half time atmosphere to have been quite composed and straight forward. As simple as "that was a bit gash" and "come on lads we are champions elect and way better than that" as billy stated in his post match interview.
There is no doubt that the lads will have been pissed off with how Saturday panned out but if anything, merely because we know that we can cut any team in this league to pieces as proven.
I personally usually frown upon over confidence and being too cock sure...However who am I to judge whilst ever we keep producing the performances at the right time and bringing the points home!.......
This team know how good they are and this confidence in their own ability as well as the ability of those around them is key to our success this far
Of course as fans........Whilst ever failure is possible, it is some what etched into us that we shouldn't get too carried away? After all we have been burnt way too many times in recent years!....However if the players have this confidence then shouldn't we now begin to reciprocate?
It is time to believe my brothers and sisters in arms!......In the same respects as wilder and the lads do!
This time it is different! Bring that venom and enjoy and saviour every minute! After all we are meant to enjoy success are we not!!!!!!
