Got a point, at home, against Sheffield United .... and celebrated like they'd just won the league.
Yes, the manner by which they did it would have given them an extra lift, but for 80 plus minutes, we dominated them AGAIN and had scored 7 to their 1 over 170 minutes.
Yes, we right royally messed up the last 10 minutes, but man, don't some people struggle to deal with disappointment?!!
There have been some amazing outcomes to plenty of Championship games this season INCLUDING Norwich and Leeds. It happens. Galling yes, but it happens.

Wilder and Knill are a fantastic management team.
Our players are doing fantastically well and we're still in with a great chance of promotion.
We've seen some brilliant performances and are in as strong a position going forward as I can remember.
I find it really sad that so many people feel it OK to demonstrate their frustration in a way that is akin to spoilt brat syndrome (if there is such a thing!) and take out their anger on the rare occasions things go tits up, on the same people who give them so much pleasure so often.

Our manager and players deserve much more respect than they are given by some.
Fine, have an opinion on where it went wrong and who was to blame, but we need to keep things in perspective don't we? by balancing our disappointment and frustration with a little more respect and appreciation when things go wrong as well as when they go right.

CW, DH and co, regardless of last night and other occasions where things didn't go to plan, thanks for all you've done this season. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and immensely proud of my club, thanks to you and the rest of the squad.

COYRAW Wizaaaaaaaaarrrrddss!!!!

Isn't the point that, whilst in full agreement with your sentiments, the "blips " are going to mean that they end up with less than their efforts deserve come May? For me, that's where the real frustration lies.

I think we will look back at that last 8 minutes at Villa as the season defining moments

I can just see the end of the week that promised so much looking very deflating

Leeds and Norwich 5 points clear this weekend
Lose against Boro and all hell will be let loose because of what happened last night

Hate to crank up the pressure but Wednesday night does become a season defining game.
Lose that and many on here will says we won’t make the play-offs.
We now need to win our next 2 home matches, Boro and Reading, no pressure boys.

Villa had a three goal comeback in the last few minutes having been dominated for the previous 80 odd by (until that point) a much better side.

Of course they are going to celebrate enthusiastically. To question why is being far too churlish.

Not all over yet. Leeds have a difficult game today and Norwich have their derby on Sunday

Rather than start a new thread I’ll just put my offering on this one...

‘Crack on’. The world hasn’t stopped turning. My bills still need paying. Hendo should have done x y and z and Wilder should have done a b and c. But we live and learn. It’s disappointing, of course it is, but we’re still in a very good position. As I saw on another post, it’s tough on Billy. I didn’t hear his words but saw the interview. Poor fella looked broken. We all did/do.

Middlesbrough midweek. We go again.

Bet you’re a barrel of laughs at a party.

Thing is Tpl, there has been a number of 'season defining moments' already and there'll be more to come no doubt.
After the other previous ones, we were last night seconds away from beind top of the league.
We're ridden past disappointments and we'll ride this one too.
There's a long way t go before we need to even think about giving up (not saying you are btw)

It's all my fault. At 0-3 I said 'We've now got the best goal difference in the league.

Where did 5 minutes extra time come from ? Didn't see sponge man on the pitch.
We were time wasting with ages to go, I hate to see that shit. Majorly pissed off regards last night but it’s another learning curve for Wilder who I’m certain will learn loads from it and can only bode well for us in the future.

Well that is football for ya, as well as the Blades way it seems. Yes of course the result has knocked my duck off, but for 80 odd minutes we totally ran the game at the home of one of the biggest & most expensively assembled squads in the league, I thought we were superb overall.
I hope & expect everyone at the club is angry & disappointed & certain things have been said behind closed doors, but again we shot ourselves in the foot with three individual errors, but for me the positives far outweigh the negatives so no need for any soul searching. I am so proud our club has come so far so quickly, & would much rather concentrate on the good things we did.

100% agree.

Common sense at last!

I’d just like to add that the Villa fans won’t be taunting us after the game again. :)

We play with an intensity that's difficult to sustain for 90 minutes, hence the need for substitutions.
The intensity saw us build a good lead but teams with the quality of Villa are always going to come back at you. Sometimes you stand firm, sometimes it bites you on the arse.
Let's face it, we're punching above our weight but its enjoyable for a change. Rather this than negative Nigels

“Bouncebackability.
I personally think the events of last night will strengthen this group of players even more. Wilder and Knill have a great ability to work on the positive, and there was a lot to see last night. I was expecting Villa to win comfortably, but I get like that before a big game and was over the moon with the opening half. We controlled all aspects of the play as Wilder pointed out. Villa huffed and puffed but did little in my opinion.
What resulted in the end is sometimes what happens in football, that’s why we watch and find it enthralling. We are generally a good team and are in the mix on merit. Roll on Wednesday night and Middlesbrough and let’s go for it. UTB.

We got back, went in to town and got speaking to some pigs, they said they never realised how good we were until last night, it brought a wry smile to my face in what was a very frustrating result. :)

We threw away a 3 goal lead to a very average side.

Let's face it, they were rubbish for 80 minutes and Deano had hardly anything to do.

I have to say I was proud of them last night. We played some superb football. The positives outweigh the negatives IMHO. OK, I went to bed gutted, but what a team. We made Villa look like they were a division below us for most of that game.
If we can keep playing anything like that we will destroy anyone in this league. I'm looking forward to playing dem pigs, I bet they are crapping themselves. We made 3 avoidable mistakes, but hopefully, the players concerned will learn from that and move one.
