Erm...........

Warnock was out of Contract........... Remember!

Don't know about Robson's contract. There is a reason Sir Alex won't deal with us and apparently this is it, I'm told. He was treated very badly by both Club and Fans.

Aha... I forgot about Warnock.

But given that we borrowed Ritchie De Laet, I guess Sralex has bestowed his forgiveness upon us.

***oops just a minute behind Wards' post***

I must've imagined De Laet playing for us last month then...

Good point well made.

I was told this when Lee Martin was supposed to be coming for £1M but the price was upped to £3M for this reason. Having that, Wasn't Robson Director of football at Manure about this point?

Again, it was a bit of info given to me from someone who's about 50-50 on reliability. Hey, don't shoot the messenger!

. We only have another 93 points to play for, Relegation must be a certainty

We have another 93 to play for, but we've played 15 and got 15 points. If we continued at that rate we would end with 46 points. That would most likely mean relegation. I accept that things could improve, but equally it could get worse and most of the points came when Speed first took over. Things have gone downhill since.

However, I actually think we will draw with Leicester, beat Millwall and draw with Palace so that will increase the points ratio slightly.

Unfounded optimism of the highest order.

The fans may have treated Robson badly, but the club didn't

I don't think he was ever director of football. He was an ambassador for the club.

I truly hope not Swiss!! Forever the optimist?? Probably just disillusional!!:)

Well i've been drinking Sake in Japan for the last few days, so alcoholic poisoning, sulphur fumes, wasabi brain and jet lag are all adding to my sense of reality...

As it stands part 2

we are up to the dizzy heights of 19th and 7 points off the play offs.

Oh and we've just agreed to sell Yeates to Cardiff.

I would have to agree with that cahill. We've put all our eggs in the basket now, thats it. We have to get on with it and hope that Gary Speed can get it right.....I think he will long term because he's a smart guy. It's just a question of how far we fall first because he has been left a mountain to climb.

If relegation is the cost of giving Gary Speed time to get it right then so be it. Chopping and changing again will only make it worse. From the managers we could afford/attract there isnt a single one that I believe could do better with this group of players. What will be, will be.

Why should we give Gary Speed time to get it right. He is a manager with zero experience at managing at any level yet you are happy for us to go down just so he can learn his trade. What if he never learns, how many relegations would you put up with.
If we go down to league 1 we are a long time coming back so no thanks let Gary go and "get it right" somewhere else

There is no guarantee that any other given manager would "get it right". At least with our Gary there are signs of improvement. If it weren't for the penalty in the 93rd (!!) minute tonight, we'd be looking at a different story. We've had a lot of bad luck lately, and I don't believe that having a different manager would have made those calls go in our favour.
