Arturo Lupoli

Why pointless? If you can clarify what you mean by "football" then we might have more of an idea of what you refer to. Simply saying "play football" means everything and nothing.

I still play "football" at nearly 50.

If anyone else thinks I play football is another matter!

:D:D:D

you cant be serious

you cant be serious

I am serious. Tell us what you mean, instead of letting us guess. Do you want a team of footballers a la Wimbledon circa 1988, or Real Madrid circa pretty much any time? One is a lot more expensive than the other.

I know who I'd back in a scrap though :D

I think Lupoli will be a useful addition to the squad. I've not seen a lot of him but have heard some good things and he certainly comes with a decent pedigree having been part of the Arsenal youth setup.

Having said that, this transfer window has been a big (and not unexpected) disappointment - it could have been a chance to give us added momentum in a push for promotion whereas it feels like it has almost had the opposite impact - certainly amongst Blades fans.

Regardless of what Seth "you're still 5th" Bennett has to say on the matter, so many Blades fans cannot be wrong...

However, moaning won't improve the situation so we need to continue to support the team and perhaps miracles can still happen...

Whilst I'm not saying who's right or wrong.... The vast majority ringing Radio Sheffield in our promotion season said we were crap and weren't going to be promoted.

Apart from anything else, I recall a certain admin of this parish wanting a bit of easy-on-the-eye "arse" for the ladies, an an Italian bloke called Arturo seems to fit the bill. Just say it in a Italian accent - "Arrturro" and the ladies will be frothing at the gusset.:D

I don't doubt it, didn't hear a lot of Radio Sheffield that season as I was at uni in Bristol - we were lucky to have running water never mind electricity :)

While there are a number of moaning Blades, I do feel that those that present Football Heaven have their own agenda and if you don't agree then you might as well not bother phoning up. It's been the same for the Chesterfield fans all season long...I used to enjoy listening to it but in recent seasons they have become more full of their own importance.

Definately! It's crap.

That doesn't mean the people they upset are correct though :)

Particularly enjoyed the bloke tonight trying to explain that people who didn't see as many games were more qualified to make an assessment than those that go week in week out... because those regular attenders have "tunnel vision".

Someone best tell Sir Alex that my dog knows more about football than him ;)

Yeah that was brilliant - best excuse I've heard yet for not going to the matches!

I think Arturo will be a good signing TBH. Hopefully the player we thought Sharp would be. Hopefully this wont be the last deal we do before the Loan deadline.

Norwich fan here. I think we're divided on this one. A lot of us felt that he wasn't given a proper chance and when he was on the pitch his minutes to goals ratio was pretty good. He was our current top scorer before he left despite not playing that much, I don't think we terminated his loan because of his footballing ability, more because of his attitude. He is a typical Italian and has had a few strops on the pitch at times, and that's why I think he was excluded. I think he will do well for you, but he's certainly not the James Beattie replacement you're after.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I hope you get promoted.

No box player will do well with out any service from midfield.

I don’t believe sharp or Webber couldn’t have 12 goals each if we kept the ball down and played through balls and crosses.
Punting it to the big guy its so shit I could beat Blackwell 4 out of 5 times as apposing manager.
Play 5 3 1 1 double up on Hendo n catch us on the break.

Get hendo out of the team until we stop playing satellite football.

Give Arturo his place

We always play football. There are several clues to this - the "F" in S.U.F.C., the fact that it's a "football" match, the presence of 22 footballers on the field at the start of every match, and other stuff along those lines.

Well at the moment it is entirely "foot"ball.... it's 50% "foot"ball and 50% "head"ball ;)

Anyways, I'm happy with this signing, Lupoli is a good player and his scoring record at Arsenal youth was phenomenal.

I'm hoping that this may be a signing with a view to a possible change in footballing approach, however again I may be a bit naive.

Overall though, I am still disappointed we have not got a direct replacement in for Beattie who is proven at this level.
