What a load of b0110x again.

50 minutes before ............... aye alreight !

Moan moan moan moan moan

Why do you bother!?

And no i am not. Alot of transfers are done late on, god knows why!

Not at all, I think this is all about Spurs getting other teams to pay some of their wages.
Naughton and Hutton off the wage bill for 6 months. We're paying nothing towards Walkers wages so they call him back.

Not mad at United over this as its worked until now. Its very frustrating how its pannedout. But can't have a go at United now.

However, I'm p1ssed off that the recruitment policy this season has been to sell our bright young assets for "good business" only to replace them with one big money signing and the rest on risky loans.

I'd much rather have a full squad on lower wages but on permanent deals than run our team with loanees.

We need a squad thats settled for a couple of years and we don't get this with one or two big money players and loanees mixed in with wasters and journeymen.

Not mad at United at all. We'll hopefully get someone decent in on loan in the next couple of weeks. Geary will be able to fill in until then.

Probably about time I mentioned this again.

Monty to RB

As I have been suggesting for several years, I think he'd do a decent job there and it would also let KB select a different central pairing, maybe the one a lot of us want to see.

Always agreed with you Fleety.

Please send an email to Blackie.

The loan window opens on 8th Feb I think.

In the next 7 days we have 3 games. My understanding of Geary's knees is that if he struggles to play 90 minutes because he can then hardly walk for a few days after.

So relying on Geary to fill in for these 3 games is probably more likely to be 1 or possibly 2 games.

We're heading into one of the busiest months of the season for matches and we're short of a full back.

Unless of course we can bring a young un through....:D

Of all the tripe served up on here, this is very near the top.

A right back needs to be able to clear the ball with authority, make decisive contact, ping a ball down the line, cross the ball, overlap if possible, play one-twos, find a man, tackle without conceding a foul.

I really am lost for words and I'm going to have to have a lie down, you'll be pleased to know.

Brown isn't ready yet, he's young and not physically filled out enough.
Both Kyles filled out loads in the 12 months before they started for the first team.

You do remember us playing Kozluk there for god knows how many seasons?

Yes I do - liked him - Kozluk had decent pace and good spring in the air, Distribution poor but can't have everything. Monty has nothing to say he can play at RB.

Back to the lie down. It would be a good laugh though seeing Monty at RB, I suppose Jim was getting at that.

Mad? I'm fucking furious. Sono incazzato nero. Che idioti Blackwell e McCabe. Testi di cazzo, bastardi, stronzoni di merda. Che ridiculo. Che stupidi. Un schemo di villagio. This is fucking ridiculous.

You clappers can try and put a positive spin on this but it is bollocks. Oh the defense will be more solid. Oh Geary can fill in. Oh we couldn't have done anything. Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks.

We've just lost our best player (by a country mile) this season. Ok, he wasn't ours but this is a major blow. It just brings back the fact that we shouldn't have sold him in the first place.

The club will try and put a spin on this. Oh, Spurs told us at the last minute. We didn't know. Bollocks! What coincidence that we brough a centra back, who can play right back in. To let Nuaghton go to Boro and then let Walker go back is ridiculous. There is no way Spurs fucked us. I'm sure we already knew about this.

Congratulations Sheffield United. Thanks Kevin Blackwell and Kevin McCabe for ruining my fucking day. Just as I was praising Blackwell, the club etc for a successful transfer window they go and do this.

Let's not forget he started as a rightsided midfielder and has provided a few assists from that side over the years. He has the energy, no probelms tracking up and down, he man marks well, tackling clumsy at times but show me a defender who isn't. As far as I know, it's not a right back's job to create chance after chance.

Kozzy had many plus points, the main one being comedy value, maybe that's what you're getting at.

I didn't know Ward had gone as well!!?!?!?!!?!??!!!!??!

Here have a fish to help you calm down :fishy:

Actually, Ward apart, BOTH of our best players have just left. Killa and Walker!!!!!

I'm EXTATIC!!!

Jim, a RB gets alot of possession. Monty does not do possession. he hasn;t got the ability to knock reasonably accurate long-balls. He is the most limited footballer playing regularly in CCC. We can just about get away with it if he is meant to break play down but RBs I think have a lot of the ball and are crucial in providing decent service to the rest of the team.

Maybe true but Walker certainly wasn't aware given the team bus episode and his recent 6 month commitment to new living arrangements.

I share your pain when The Messiah is named on the team sheet (phew, there go's another transfer window when I thought Chelsea would be on the blower) BUT I have to say I'm with Fleety here.

I love seeing a marauding full back tear arsing down the wing and scaring the shit out of the opposition. Nearly as much as I enjoy seeing wingers do similar.
However, it is not the number one priority for the position, in my eyes, and having one who does (Naughton) and one who doesn't (Naysmith) was OK most of last season.

Monty would be the "doesn't" option and would spend his time stopping the winger rather than being asked to do anything positive. This he could carry off I reckon.
Think back to Coventry at home last season. One nil down, Sun sent off, Blackie puts Monty to RB to cover. We immediately look more dangerous going forward as he's not in there getting in the way. Cotts sets up a goal for Billy and it looks like a remarkable win is on! NO. Cotts is taken off, Monty is moved back to midfield and whoever is brought on. We don't make a significant attack in the rest of the game.
Obvioulsy the specialist full back would be my first option but if it gets Monty out of the middle then putting him to RB is a good second choice.

has this 'off the team bus' story been confirmed anywhere??? i find it a bit hard to believe we would set off at 4pm (rush hour) to go down the M1, when the transfer window is still open to boot???

What on Earth were the club meant to do exactly? Tell Redknapp to fuck off andd install barricades? They own his contract, they can do what they like.

I would bring out some of my italian Olle but I think you just summed up everything I am feeling. Utter bollocks. One more step towards not renewing my season ticket. Same old United shit.

And why do they own his contract?! Because we fucking sold him as we always do. Naughton I can understand but I dont care how much McCabe says it - we didnt HAVE to sell Walker. What if Walker and Naughton had never come through the ranks? Would that mean we would have to sell half the squad to make up for that income.

Penny pinching garbage. The club has always been run the same. They wonder why we have no long term success??? Rubbish!

Quite right, and I was a disappointed as anyone that we sold Naughton's replacement along with the man himself. Having done that however, there is nothing we could have done to stop Spurs recalling him.

I'm not sure where I stand on this. I woudn't have Monty within a country mile of the first team BUT:

1. Blacko will always pick him and Quinn however badly they perform. If he has to play at all I would be less offended to see him at right-back than his present occupancy of the key area of any team [or at least any footballing team]: central midfielder.

2. I agree about the hapless and comedic Kozluk [sorry Santos!]. Still he's made a few goals for us since he left!

What on Earth were the club meant to do exactly? Tell Redknapp to fuck off andd install barricades? They own his contract, they can do what they like.

Bravo Guesty. I'll tell you what the club should have done:

a) not sold him in the first place. Fair enough nahughton went (for a very good price) but to sell his very talented young replacement was just plain stupidity.
b) we were told that one of the conditions for the sale was that he would come back on a season long loan. If we agreed to that then we should stick to that. If this was agreed then we would not be powerless.
c) If we were informed that Walker was going (or even knew that he could be recalled) by Spurs then we should have asked Spurs for compensation on the form of Naughton.

If you think that the club has handled this situation well and that the were 'powerless' then you really are erm ....... very naive (to be diplomatic).
