Are we the most failed club.....

Maybe we finally have to accept that regardless of fan base and history, we are about where we should be in the modern era?

We haven't won anything of note for a very, very long time.

Wouldn't acceptance of our mediocrity make the occasional home win, or good performance a little sweeter? A decent cup run or a play off run a delight?

Anything more would just be a bonus.

I pity the plastic prem fans because every win of ours is worth 20 of theirs. If we had even an once of sucess, the feeling would be much much greater. We may moan, but that why we stick around.

.......in current history of football?

Apart from Blackpool who have a strong history we must be the club that has fallen further than any other in the history of football and we are still in reverse. I'm no football historian or statto, are there any other clubs who have fallen further from grace than us?

We had a similar discussion to this back in 2009 and Darren produced statistics confirming that we were the biggest post war underachievers:

That was seven years ago before our recent decline, so it would be interesting to see an updated table!

There should be a mathematical formulae to bring it down to a comon factor of under acievableness. Eg

Crapness=Year est\(yrs top league((4pts))+yrs 2nd league ((3pts))+yrs3rd league((2pts))+yrs 4thleague) + 10 Pte per cup win + 5 PTA per promotion + 5 PTA / religation x (% of city population/number of clubs in city [avaerage home crowds]
