Another play-off final lost.

Mind you at least we put up a decent fight this time.

Udders deserved it in the end.

Hurts more than any other time, the fact that we tried makes it harder to take.

The fact that we tried means more rather than walking away with our tail between our legs like we did against Wolves.

Not too sure that was a decent fight, bit too cautious and lacking in any real drive for me. Thought Quinn was outstanding, never stopped running and his attitude was great today. Pity we didn't have a few more with his will to win.

Says it all for me when our defenders were our better players. Collins and Maguire were immense, Lowton did a sterling job too but for me the game was lost in our total lack of a midfield. We hurried passes, we gave possession away cheaply, we never got the strikers in because we didn't pass the ball well all day.

Not a good performance, and Huddersfield were no better so don't know where the "Udders deserved it in the end" comes from, I thought they were awful.

Another in the long line of sickeners, don't know what we've done to piss the football gods off but it must have been a doozy.

The better of 2 poor sides.

They had more chances on goal than us and at times showed more urgency than us.

Im not a mcabe knocker, but feel if we don't spend a bit of money in the close season. Well, obscurity beckons.

We are already in obscurity and have been for a while.

I am done.
Had enough now. Its ok for the players manager chairman.
They have money to get away from it and enjoy themselfs.
I am stuck just paying the bills and cant afford holiday for the family.

Really missed McDonald today just to calm things down. Poor old Simmo. Will be very interesting to see who is here next year..

I fear the worst for next season, as said earlier by someone in the shoutbox it is time for McCabe to stand up and be counted with a bit of investment in the club .................... we do know it won't happen though.
More likely that we will be having a fire sale this summer and it will be debatable as to which end of League 1 we will escape from. One thing is for sure the wheel has turned full circle in Sheffield football, 10 years or more of being way ahead of the swine has been pissed down the drain and it is back to being the poor neighbours god knows how long for.:(
That being said I can't knock the fans, players or Danny Wilson, the problems at the club all stem from decisions made higher up.

Agreed with the decisions made higher up. Why the ferk we appointed Robson i'll never know. I foresaw this as soon as he was appointed. I said all he would do would waste the clubs money, get us into debt and get us relegated. Yep, you're sat there saying " what the fook as Robson got to do with it"? cos thats where the rot set in and where the poor decisions lay and its been a downward spiral ever since. I sincerely hope, and after watching the tv documentary with Robson trying to hawk us off to the highest bidder, that his next turd is a VERY large hedgehog................................ backwards!!!!!!!!!! captain fantsatic my arse.

Spot on. Dreadful lack of effort and creativity in midfield, aside from Quinn who was absolutely excellent but up front and the rest were lousy. Williamson in particular was awful.

The midfield didnt really exist Flynn didnt do enough and neither did Willo.

Agree missed mcdonald today and should have started porter. I am not looking forward to June or July, lots of interet in the likes of Maguire, Lowton, Quinn etc.....could be a very different 11 that starts in August

midfield wasnt really set up for 'creativity to be fair. thought they closed us down very well, as we did them. which one was jordan rhodes? all we've heard from every source this week was how great he was, never got a kick. i think we did ourselves proud today.

Defensively we did alright but that alone wont win you the game. I was glad we kept Rhodes quiet and Novak for that matter. Alan Lee was up to his usual cheeky stunts.

We have pushed the boat out this season. Our wage bill has been ridiculously high for a third division club. It can't continue like that, and we have to show patience now as we try to build a new squad with players that can develop beyond our current level.

Cannot agree Bergen, those players were on good contracts when we were last in the Championship trust me if anyone would have shown genuine interest in any of them they would have been sold just like Slew. Do you really believe we could have kept Ched but for a court case hanging over his head ???.................... no way, we were stuck with a bad bunch on high wages credit Danny for making them into a half decent side, where we fell down was having very little back up in key areas. Was Danny given any funds to get back up or was he forced to look in footballs equivalent of poundland for back up players. And btw we don't develope young players we sell em, it's THE BLADES WAY.

Maybe so. But in a sense a major clearout is due. Goodbye monty, quinn, and all remnants of blackwell and warnock.

You're defending Wilson for being stuck with the players/wage bill, but surely the same goes for the club/board/McCabe? Our last few managers (pre Wilson) have been handed decent budgets, but have wasted too much on short term deals and the signings of expensive/experienced/ageing Premiership/Championship players. They've been given silly money despite being over the top and despite being unable to bring in anything at all in terms of transfer fees.

As we're losing money without having a squad that looks capable of improving - surely it is time for a new approach, i.e. building a team for the future, not just another attempt at "bouncing back"?

Kevin mccabe has failed in every single onjective hes ever set. Cant wait for administration and a decent owner like woolhouse
