I can't help wondering if anyone can remember a mieldfied for United that has been so "vertically challeged". I can remember some really good ones that were on the small side such as Willie Carlin, Billy Hodgson (inside forward in old money), Trevor Hockey, I cannot think of a United team that had so many short arses in the team together. I don't think that if we sat Brittain, Ward, Quin and Yeats on each others shoulders they would reach the heights of Bob Booker, Phil Jagielka or Keith Eddy.

Can anyone else remember a short United midfield that was any good for us?

I think someone like Kevin Nolan would suit us just fine. Please don't try to contact me as I'm just back off to Fantasy Island

Woefully short on abilty I'm afraid. Time for a real clear out. Monty and Quinn joint first on the list.
