As Blades fans this is out of our normal conditions, not only getting promoted, but it potentially happening several games before the end of the season. Some fans now seem to be in melt down and unable to cope.

I can understand why. I'm a big picture sort of Blade and I've been calm about the whole thing all season. I've accepted each result without getting carried away but to be this close after a such a long spell down in the third division is making it sink in just how momentous it would be to get out.

The level of performance over the 40 games so far has exceeded many expectations hence it's uncharted territory. As someone that was born in the mid 80's I've never even seen them lift silverware. That's how much it would mean to do so. It's not just about the promotion.

We don't do silverware it's obscene. However i did see us win the 4th Division, my most enjoyable season.

We win on a Pigday this week , how bizarre ! Fleetwood fail to win at Oxford , a Chris Wilder club , how poetic ! Those are the only 2 games in L1 that night , how focussed is the fixture list ? We would be promoted in all but theoretical mathematical virtual reality.
We will celebrate at the Lane because only a handful of us can get to Northampton , that's the essence of our Blades togetherness this season.
If the gap over the repulsive Lancashire TROTTERS (Pigs sic) widens to 9 points by the end of the match v Bradfud , we would be Champions in all but theoretical mathematical virtual reality.

Sometimes you have to abandon your innate fears , even though they are based on sound evidence.
Yes , the Blades can fuck things up (or be fucked up by the fraud of others or incredibly bad luck) , at the very last gasp.
But this year you all know in your hearts that the ducks were lined up in a row from the moment a certain Mr Wilder & Mr Knill began to exert their influence.
How on earth a real Blade could contemplate being at Stamford Bridge - scene of one of our 2 utterly unjust relegations from the Prem - at this cathartic time , is totally beyond me.
