Feel more relaxed for this one than any of the other finals. Perhaps as you get older you don’t feel as nervous. Might change as it gets closer. Want it for my lad as much as anything. Remember how gutted I felt against Palace , Burnley and Huddersfield.

Driving parents down Saturday. Driving back after. 1st play off sober..gonna be a fucking nightmare.

Trying to convince myself it's a big family day out.

For some reason this is the first time I’ve ever felt confident in the play offs . I genuinely believe we are the best side in the play offs and I believe Wilder will not let us lose . Even if he legs over a Sunderland winger from the touchline ! This is our time to shine 100 years , what’s happened to George , how we have carried ourselves as a club all make me believe this is the time !!

I'm buzzing for it honestly had nothing but positive feelings this time around it just feels different. I'm heading down tomorrow afternoon then come me back Sunday and straight out for the love2be rave on Effingham road. This is going to be a seriously heavy & expensive weekend , am I bothered? Not one bit I've saved and prepared myself so bring it on.. UTB

No nerves here. Just looking forward to taking my kids to their first Wembley experience with Sunderland.
We missed the Wycombe playoff win due to a wedding. My eldest has never stopped talking about missing it.

I think we are slight underdogs but anything can happen. Whatever the result our young lads have had an excellent season. If we do manage to go up we will get royally bummed all season.

Enjoy your weekend. I guarantee the vast majority of SAFC fans you meet will be good crack, decent people, passionate about their team to a fault, and pissed.

Calmest I’ve ever been just before a play-off final to be perfectly honest. The only reason I want us to go up is for the money. Genuinely can’t be arsed with the premier league anymore - the inability for promoted teams to at least compete with premier league sides is demoralising. You absolutely have to throw a serious wedge at it and hope you finish 17th. Fuck that up and you’re in serious amounts of shit. This season, you had to be better that Tottenham to have any hope of survival… It’s such a miserable experience I almost hope we don’t win.

In all reality it should be the calmest I've felt all things considered. The gap in points, how the Semi's turned out, fully fit squad etc etc but I've only ever been pretty calm for 1 final and that was Wolves in 03. Look how that turned out

I’m actually quite relaxed about it to be fair at the moment but that might change on the approach to the ground & when the atmosphere ramps up .
The mindset I’ve got at the mo is ..if we win I’ll be over the moon ..not about returning to the PL but the fact that I will have seen my team win at Wembley in my lifetime.

One of my best mates is a Mackem and through him got to know a few of your boys & All good lads & had some great laughs over a few pints over the years . Gonna be strange as would have ordinarily been meeting them for a pint or three & some banter before the game but he’s travelling back off hols on Sat .
I’ve been a few times with your boys to your the SoL inc a derby against the Mags .
