The December fixtures are only horrendous if we lose them. 5 games are against teams expected to finish bottom half - Villa, Norwich, Newcastle, Watford, Brighton.
Win 3 or 4 of them and we're more than on course.

Injuries could play a huge factor though.
If we lose 1 or 2 players together we 'should' be ok, 3, 4+ and the spine of the team starts to crack.
Lose 2 defenders or 2 midfielders at the same time though and we're fucked - Bash and JOC out at same time for example.

I reckon December is our easiest month of the season - without wishing to tempt fate if course!!

Football and the world today in general is too polarised.

Look at politics or any debate. The further people go to one side the less chance they have if getting anything close to what they want.

Some fans are falling over themselves having ejaculated into their Costco Kirkland boxers already telling people they knew we'd take the League by storm etc etc.

Why can't people just live in the moment and enjoy the games as they come without getting too carried away or looking for impending doom.

Interesting! No it wasn't me mate! I'm not a lawyer. But I have had positions of responsibility in various big corporations and I've seen a big change in the workplace over the years. There were times when I'd have had similar banter with staff, but absolutely no way would I risk any of that now, not even with my best mates on a night out, never mind in a company meeting. I won't bore you with the details, but I once had a member of staff claim I'd said something in a meeting which upset her. There were 8 other people in that meeting, no-one else heard anything. She was not a natural English speaker, so there may have been some misunderstanding/misinterpretation of what I'd said. But she took it all the way to HR. HR reached an agreement with her, and paid her off to leave. A year later she was re-employed again and a year after that she was up to the same old tricks with another manager. - claiming something had been said in a meeting which upset her - and claiming compensation for not being able to work there anymore.

There are some dangerous people out there!

There's also a profileration of big mouth know it all's who genuinly believe they are gods gift to business, like the muppets seen on The Apprentice. Some people need to learn what they actually know, from somebody who does. Not condoning bullying, but sometimes people need telling in no uncertain terms. Anyway, let's not divert the thread

Most Blades will say that nothing has changed and they’re taking it game by game which is probably true for some, but then again look at the massive overreaction on the media because we ’only’ got a point at Watford. Like I posted on another thread, let’s stay humble and keep our feet firmly on the ground, we’ve come so far in such a short time. Inflated expectations at this stage matched by equally inflated negative overreactions if things don’t go our way won‘t help our cause one bit.

We need to get the points needEd to stay up against any side and in any way, then we can speculate away on where this season might take us. (IMO)

They haven't played like Champions League finalist since the semi (that got them through to that final).

Rumours of a certain player shagging another's wife, unsettled senior pros who will be leaving and a lack of decent recruitment by self appointed footie god Daniel Levy, has left them way off last season's form. They are also away on the night between Tuesday and Thursday.

Of course they have the quality to turn us over, but in our current form you'd expect us to get something.

Dunno, they were by far the better team in the final and were screwed over by the debatable VAR call in the first minute.

Stop this faux realism. You'll be accused of lacking ambition by some of our Billy Bigbollocks Blades, who have made it clear that finishing 17th would be a crushing disappointment.

I'm just enjoying the ride and much more than I thought possible, having seen us play Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal I'm not too worried who we play now. I thought Burnley might have been our hardest game of the season so what do I know? Before a ball had been kicked I was looking at the fixtures and wondering where the hell we would pick up around 10-12 wins and a few draws to scrape 17th place. Rather than expecting a relegation battle I now expect us to come in mid table.
Coming up to a third of the season gone Norwich play Watford on Friday a game both teams dare not lose, even a draw will make it a huge task for both teams to pull clear of the relegation places. An Everton win at Southampton could see a 5pt gap open up to the bottom three depending on other results.

I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground and will accept 17th place will be a great achievement but in the build up to the Chelsea game I was fearing a drubbing.
Now I'm wondering if our superb build up play, majic down the left v Burnley, will be too much for a talented but under performing team?.
I'm optimistic, but more than anything I am very, very proud.

This Wilder team has done this every year since he won league one. When we got promoted to the championship I think initially we didn't know what to expect but went to the top of the league early on and then everyone immediately raised their expectations. It's still amazing that it's happening again at the top level though.
