AQuinn+Stead Who would have either / both back?

I think the point is that Steadinho has always got off to a great start at whichever club he's gone to (maybe Sunderland apart), then dropped down to the bench and subsequently moved on. The fact he's only 26 and the next club will be his 7th says it all for me.

I will give you Blackburn.
Sunderland he was poor in a poor team.
Us he started off well and got moved to the wing/bench.
He's done alright for Ipswich
He did well for Derby despite being played on the wing.

He may be on his 6th club at the moment, but one of the clubs was a loan deal.

He has also been a victim of a change in managers on a few occasions too... ie surplus to requirements by the new regime.

You're arguing against yourself a bit there, more managers means more managers haven't fancied him.

Well no Fleets, as only one manager at a time can sell him!

1 club - 2 managers - 1 manager sells him - still the same amount.

Robbie said earlier that all he could count was 3 managers. All I'm saying is that, take us as an example, Robson didn't fancy him and then neither did KB so that's 2 at one club even though yes, only 1 can sell him !

Not strictly true. Just not in their plans.

Robson played him 23 times by my calculations (quite a lot on the wing/sub though). SO he saw him as a useful addition to the 'squad'. Whereas Blackwell seemed to prefer other people over him. Probably because he wasn't a proper target man.

What's the difference between 'didn't fancy him' and 'just not in their plans' ?

I appreciate different managers have their own ideas, prefer different styles etc but the bottom line is, if Steady was looking good in training and did the business on the pitch on a regular basis, he wouldn't have moved on so much and had so many managers either not playing him, playing him in a different position, or moving him on.

People move all the time, it's not like it used to be.

Only 4 managers have 'moved' Stead along.

Huddersfield because they got an offer they couldn't refuse from a PL club.
Blackburn got a very good offer for a player who was no longer required after bringing superior players.
Sunderland got a very good offer from us for a player that just didn't do it for them so was sold.
We sold because seemingly he wasn't in Blackwells plans.

Not really as clear cut as you make it out to be.

It's like saying Kyle Naughton has played for 3 teams and he is only 20, he can't be very good.

Same thing fella. Look at it another way, out of umpteen managers who've had the chance, why have so few perseveered (sp?) with him?

UTB

Or to put it another way, why have so many wanted to sign him?

i'm currently reading posts linking us with stead, tonge, brown, kosluk, aquinn.. i think blades have a psychological attachment to old players and can't 'throw them away' .. a bit like our lass is with shoe boxes :-)
