If you do see him, please don't approach.

He is very unpredictable and will either gush with enthusiasm about how awesome everything is, or throw a big sulky strop because someone has been slightly critical of him.

He will then proceed to create a flash vote to see whether his decision to either gush with enthusiasm or throw a big sulky strop was supported amongst the fanbase.

And then never actually publish the results

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't read this :)

Probably better to ascertain the situation before turning his absence into a pop at him though...

One of the problems with greater visibility and communication with folk, is that when it dries up due to ill health or other reasons, you are very quickly on the receiving end of their anger or "surprise" at your lack of presence.

We get plenty of that as simply people who choose to provide a free service, never mind as someone who is a chairman of the club :)

Not at you sir, you're a fine contributor. It's the 'Everythings Great' brigade, who often get even more aggressive and irrational than the miserable bastard contingent I find.

Everything is Great Tyler!........... and if you f#**k'n don't agree with me you can F#CK RIGHT OFF, yer st#p1d tw8t!!!!!................

All just good natured fun-poking, eh Foxy? Albeit of the sarky, rambunctious Sheffield kind ... ... oh oh, see what you mean - he'll be thinking we've taken up pitchforks against him

If he's got serious health issues and he were to post about them, he's have nothing but sympathy imo. I understand if he wants such things to stay private but he needn't go into any detail, he could just say he's been advised to give work a break for a while.

"Hey guys, since you were speculating over my whereabouts and I've kinda dug my own hole by being so open and communicative I guess I have no option but to tell the truth.

My recent trip to Riyadh wasn't without its drawbacks. The chip butty that I ate turned out to be "bad".

I got a pretty severe bout of dysentry, and as a result I was shitting rusty water for nearly a week. The number of times I sprayed that tile bathroom floor whilst trying to puke isn't even funny. By the fifth day my stools had improved to a slightly sludgy consistancy but I was losing a bit of blood.
Although it has started to clear up, I've started to get the occasional stinging sensation when I take a piss. I can only attribute this to a possible mosquito bite on my banjo string.

I was going to just say I've been experiencing "ill health" but I knew that would never be a good enough explanation for you whiny, entitled fuckers

#UnitedTogether

Jim"

Could anybody blame him for washing his hands of the abusive prats who plagued him while he was trying to communicate with our fans, adult to adult.

He was naive to even attempt it. Kind of a noble effort but naive nevertheless.

I think the naivety is/was some kind of total faith in humanity when it might be better to have a partial faith in humanity.

Imo it's far from naive trying to communicate - and even reason with supporters.

But it's wildly optimisitic/naive trying to communicate and reason with *everyone*.

Still, I'm very glad Jim is a part of the club.

I said it on the other thread and I stick to my view that he told the truth when he said he saw at least three transfer windows including the last one to sort out the squad from the mess it is in.

That effectively writes off this season and the next.

I think a few board members choked on their scotch and sodas when they heard that being said out loud and one of the consequences is that Jim has been in effect told to keep his gob shut.

The other consequence was McCabe trying to rescue the PR situation, with his eyes on the season ticket renewals, with the torrent of bullshit and mis direction he came out with on the hastily arranged Radio Sheffield interview.

Wouldn't surprise me one little bit.

Please Jim, if you are reading this...come home.

You don't have to talk to anyone you don't want to and we'll make sure you're seated as far away from McCabe's mob as possible....no one blames you for anything and we just want to be united together.

'you fill up my senses....etc'

Best,
Esablade.

I feel very sorry for him because he has little involvement in the board decisions and has zero involvement in the footballing decisions, yet still gets grief for both because he dared to communicate with fans.

All of the fans who have abused and mocked him via social media are morons.

Can I just add... I agree that there were some idiots who let their passion get the better of them... However I wasn't one of them. I was in semi regular contact with Jim 'adult to adult' and although he came across as a thoroughly nice bloke a lot of what he said was utter tripe and full of politician type spin.

I don't think it is the 'idiots' that have forced Jim to stay off social media for a while ... He's adept at dealing with those. It's the ones that pose reasonable and balanced questions straight to the heart of the matter, the ones who won't be led down the wrong path by endless blurb... He can't deal with those.

Agree with you that it was a noble effort but ultimately naive.

Examples? I ask because I've only seen his stuff copied on to here and it's been really good.

I do not have the time or the inclination to trawl through old messages to prove a point. I was merely stating it wasn't all idiots, I certainly wasn't one, Jims a nice bloke, just a mouthpiece for the owners can't answer real questions with any substance.

I prefer it how it is now.
