Sheffield kick-started the real ale movement back in the early 80's when Dave Wicket (RIP) bought an old industrial boozer called " The Alma" and renamed it "The Fat Cat", Now we have award winning ale coming out of our ears, and no better time to enjoy a pint than Saturday afternoon, pre and post footy!
Used to be in Dave's economics classes at Sheff poly. We used to spend a lot of time talking blades instead of Keynes. Passionate blade and we both loved his beer.
Brilliant bloke. Really sad when I heard he had passed away.

Dave\s lad, Ed, was at school with my lad and they both played (for a time) at the same sunday football team, aged around 10-12 years old, me and Dave would stand in wind, rain and snow, cheering our lads on and talking about Sheff United.

Oy!
Me and Ken Jnr like the Cremorne too. I'm partial to a pre match pint or two of Kelham Best.

Thing is, I've not been to a home game for ages. Done a few away but CBA to get my ass up to Sheffiled atm :(
