Personally, and I fully expect many to disagree with me, I think the biggest difference is the solid defence in front of the keeper. George Long made errors but he very rarely played behind a solid defence and I'd argue he never played behind one as good as we've got now.

Should've been replaced a long time ago. Moore breathes confidence in the back line.

You make a good point re George not playing behind a solid defence and there is definately some truth there. But i think it was a case of the 'defence' (i use the term loosely) playing crap because they were both crap themselves and because they had no confidence in the keeper behind them. This meant that they got the jitters every time we came under pressure and we leaked goals and shattered their confidence. In turn, because the defence was without confidence it gave George fuk all protection and he lost whatever little confidence he had himself and started playing crap also. That knocked the confidence of the defence....and around and around it went. Basically the defence and the keeper last season were shite. That said that nightmare has gone now and i want to just enjoy the now and the future with Sir Wildthing. Enjoy the good times cos weve suffered the shit ones for too long.

I always tried to defend long as i think he was better than most remember But stats say it all we've only lost 1 league game since moore was bought & that was only because o'connell when kamikaze & gave a penalty away v millwall
