No, we had our moment, it's their turn now.

Happy for them, was thinking last night about how all the Brentford fans can screenshot the table they're at the top of, made me think of us taking screenshots of the table when we were 5th and stuff.

Plus they embarrassed Arsenal so that's bonus points.

Has the heat got to you? I would suggest that SUFC are smaller than all these teams. Norwich and WBA are yo-yo clubs and Burnley have done much better than us over the last 60 years ffs.

Just to re-iteratate an interesting stat. The wonderful Blades are along with Rochdale the only club in English professional football never to have won at Wembley/the Millenium stadium since WWII in anything !!! At least Rochdale got to the final of the league cup eh (when it was a two leggged affair). That is bloody shit in anyone's book. It hurts me like hell. Teams like bloody Swindon and Oxford and Luton for Christ's sake. We should be permanently sponsored by a bottle company 'cos we permanently screw it up however 'well we are doing'.
Sorry, i wasn't comparing them to us but to the so called bigger clubs in NW England and in London. My point was that smaller clubs can thrive in the Premier league (albeit for short periods of times) if they are run properly and sustainably. I don't see the point in slagging them off just because we are a basket case.

Not spiteful jealous because I hope they do well- but yes definitely pains that we are still not in the Prem.

Rancours the absolute shit we bought in McBurnie, Brewster, Lowe, Burke- just even half decent recruitment and we'd have been OK but oh no when the decisions were made- we made awful ones.

And to be fair to Brentford- they didn't go at it timidly the took the game to Arse from start to finish- brilliant night for them
Totally understand, Brentford Totally deserve there time in the sun.
They have recruited well, were as we have bought crap like Mcburnie brewster that would struggle playing league 1 tbh..
It will make a nice change watching how Brentford do this season.

Good luck to them. It will be interesting to see how their recruitment model works in the top flight.

How come they have stripes on the back of their shirt? I thought there was some UEFA rule that explained our decision

To be honest I still can't understand how last season happened, for us to go from one end of the spectrum to the other so fast was mind boggling and I still havent got my head round it .
As for begrudging Brentford fans their good luck, well that would be simply pointless......

Brentford are more of a rival to us than the likes of Arsenal would ever be. We’re all very eager celebrate their achievements and to pat them on the head in a very (let’s be honest) condescending manner. But the truth is Brentford are doing very nicely, thank you very much. If SUFC and Brentford FC were in the same league and both put for sale at the same time...We know exactly where the queue of foreign investors would forming. Burnley are still without doubt my Premier league underdog”” of choice. So yes, I do admire Brentford’s achievements, but wanting them to do well is a bit of a stretch for me...Sorry.

Kit looks great, puts to bed the myth that Reeves our Commercial Manager was spinning that stripes couldn't be on the back of shirts fully because it would be hard to read names. What a complete buffon who can't be arsed to tell Adidas to get their finger out and give us back our stripes.

As for the footballing Barcelona of the Championship. Well thats what their fans were telling us when they didn't consider Egan and JOC to fit into their superior style of play and they were happy for them to leave. Good to see anyone beat the Arse Olympic diving team and their self entitled fans. Yet Brentfud fans aren't far behind Arse when it comes to arrogance.

Wonder what they make of the Hoof waffen tactics they now currently employ from the pure football they used to experience. Their second goal was pure hoof. Egan and JOC weren't good enough for them yet they have Pontus Jansson and Pinnock at the back now along with another 3 or 4 giants in the team. Franks their manager eventually realised you need some big lads to get out of the championship. Something I hope SJ will be mindful of.

Brentford are at their best when they are negotiating player sales. At their worst when they read Roys view. 😀 Why would any Blade by jealous of them?

Main thing I feel is a sense of missed chance. I do think that without the pandemic we would have finished 6thand got into Europe. We wouldn't have had the JOC injury and then being in Europe who knows where that would have gone.

The following season (last season) you cannot predict but with a better finish would have presumably come some better signings. With fans in the ground, no weird preseason we would have stood a better chance of staying up again.

I feel we missed the chance to become a bit of a fixture in the division and capitalise on it. That's what makes me peeved.

Maybe it can still happen in the near future still.

They haven't had a small budget. They've spent a fucking fortune on scouting which, in fairness, has unearthed some gems for them who they've sold on for big bucks.

They've built steadily over the years and they're probably entitled to their day in the sun, but they haven't done it on a shoestring and the money involved certainly shits on the "Oooh we're not supposed to be here!" narrative that Frank was trying to push on Sky last night.

Their fans are arrogant sods despite their club having done fuck all in their history, and there are too many London clubs in the Premier League. Fuck 'em.
Lovely. Proper salty reply

Let them enjoy their time in the sun. Everyone will spaff over them but I feel they will struggle. Personally I am not that interested in the Premier league since we're no longer in it. Obviously apart from wanting Leeds to go down.

I cannot believe the arrogant nonsense being spouted by Blade fans nowadays. OK so some clubs have been helped by wealthy owners (Bournemouth, Watford and Wolverhampton) but there have been some smaller clubs that have over achieved too such as Burnley, Norwich and West Bromwich. Just because Sheffield United has done their usual trick of totally fucking up a decent situation, why are we so bloody bitter with everyone nowadays?

Can't remember any of our fans slagging Wolves off, we've a pretty good relationship with them to be honest, proper club, proper fans that understand the game and understand the hard times as well.

The fans of Brentford, Bournemouth etc understand nothing, they weren't around when they were League 2 clubs, and they swan about like football is the new x factor style game show, they slag off clubs with a hundred times more history than them because they don't see them as offering very much to the new "Product".

Pricks the lot of 'em, and just the sort of clubs that will manage to escape FFP punishment when it inevitably comes around.

Brentford also have a loyal fan base who chose to support their 'unfashionable' club when there were plenty of other options for them. Good luck to them. I went to Griffin Park in 2013 when they were a midtable fan base and they had a noisy backing that day.

😄 Wolves - 'we've a pretty good relationship with them'...obviously you weren't around when they attacked the away end a few years ago - or when they got chased round town by Blades in retaliation after they had played at Hillsborough.
Again, i don't understand how you and others can dump all the supporters of Brentford and Bournemouth under the umbrella of X factor posers. Any guests reading some messages on this board (especially last season) would surely come to the same conclusion.
As for using Brentford in particular, having less history than us as an example....hmmm i think you should check what year they were formed.

Your first line echoes exactly what I was going to say.

Football hooliganism is always going to happen occasionally between half wits on any side

Brentford's fans are tossers, the comments from practically all of them since we got back to the Championship and got them in the first game were a joke, and they carried it on all the way through our rise to the Premier League.

The BBC comments section during each game were also full of these dickheads criticising us, despite the plaudits we were getting from everywhere else.

Two years ago we were getting the plaudits for how we were playing, the spirit and passion of the players and the noise the crowd were making. Now it is Brentford's turn to be in the spotlight and watching their game yesterday I felt a little jealous. I wonder how much more difficult they would find it if they were playing behind closed doors though?
I always thought Brentford would get in the top flight for a few years now . Well run club who's scouts are second to none. Wish the Blades could hire their scouting team. They ALWAYS are finding gems to replace players they sell for mega money who seem just as good as they guys they are replacing .Also a first class youth policy. For a small club they are a shinning example to the rest of the football league on how to run a small football club who make money and are also reasonably successful.

If there's one team I'm envious of it's Leicester City, a team that were on level pegging with us for so many years and a sign of what a well run club can become.
Spot on mate them and us were on level terms for years.

They absolutely deserve every bit of credit they get.

they’ve gone up by selling players and replacing them with players just as talented at a fraction of the cost. They’ve not simply bought promotion they’ve invested and earned it.

they also play extremely attractive football. Fair play to them and I hope they enjoy it.

im not jealous we had the opportunity to build something special but threw it away. It’s time to roll our sleeves up and start again,
Spot on mate . we had a chance when we were up there but for some reason did not invest so we could kick on.

No but in enjoyed Leeds getting a tonking
Now THAT made me laugh out loud, seeing that score. As I knew full-time would be approaching I dragged myself away from the cricket to take a peek at the score knowing that the last time I looked it was 1-1 and someone in Shoutbox was berating Joe Cole for noshing Leeds off.
