Anyone else excited to see Berge play in that midfield?

Agreed. It was interesting to see him tonight in what I think is his first, attacking role. I was nervous waiting for the board to go up because if he had been a straight swap for Norwood then PNE would've destroyed him. He did seem happier there and took his goal either extremely well or very fortunate.

With his physicality you'd hope he could operate more centrally but I think he's too vulnerable there but perhaps he's more suited to an attacking role?

It's like when we had Brooks, we only really had one place for him, in the midfield 3 for Duffy, but Brooks could never be arsed with the defensive side so didn't play as much as you'd think.

Berge also leaves us a bit light in midfield, but if Slav keeps it as is, then I think he could be handy attacking down the right. I know he was signed as this big holding mid, but I've never seen it. I think it's a waste of his talent, I've watched him playing there for Norway and it's just sad when he could be marauding through teams.

Having someone who can pass like Berge on the right might also bring a bit of balance to our attacks, which are nearly all down the left.

Last night he did well when coming on after two weeks of little training and bring stuck in a hotel in Norway.

I think one of the 3 behind the striker is his position from now on.

He played very well last night and is obviously a talented kid. I’m not sure why he started on the left but did ok there for me with it not being his preferred side.

On the right he was superb and think he should start Saturday, it’s more who to replace. It would work well I think if Norwood say deeper to orchestrate and allow Berge to attack more, but it’s a nice headache to have I believe!

Yep, get him in the 11. Switch out Ndiyae for McBurnie when the oppo has Giants:

I thought that Berge did well when he came on, floated around and eventually seemed to slot into the right, but looked just as comfortable down the left, as did Brewster.

I'd happily start Brewster down the left hand side for Ozzy or Freeman or in place of Ndiaye.

Great to see we have all of those options in Midfield

Only gripes that i have with Berge is that whilst he's a big unit, he's crap in the air and when he's in posession, he seems to have a knack of turning into a position to allow defenders to nick the ball off him. He sometimes just needs to wind it up a bit more and just go with the ball rather than worry about players around him. He also doesn't seem to enjoy the ball winning side of things

Its this which makes me think he's better suited to home games, rather than away where sides are more likely to be in possession. I'd play Ozzy away if he's fit.
