Any ideas on when the new manager will be appointed?

I know we don't want to rush it and get the wrong man, but just wandering what's a realistic time frame?

Given that next season starts earlier than normal, it's crucial that we appoint someone soon and give him time to start making the changes we need if we are to stand any chance of promotion - because if we we stick with the current squad we have no chance.

Hope we are snappy with the new manager!
Get him in, let him assess the squad, let him bring in players and release the dead wood quickly.

If only. I'm pretty sure that, the Deadwood Stage will not depart the Lane, any time soon. The ones with a contract will sit tight like glue for a year or two.

According to the Stir, shortlist finalised yesterday, interviews start at the end of this week. If the likes of Robinson are involved, it will be messier if they're already in jobs.

They'll want someone in place by the end of the month at the very latest I would have thought.

Messi? I'd take him.

About 6 hours before the transfer window shuts.

"It dragged on longer than we expected. No-one is more dissappointed than me, we had to sell the youngters, you can't stand in their way, and we had a number of irons in the fire to replace them but we just ran out of time. Even so, I think with Monty returning as player/coach we have enough in the locker to mount a serious promotion campaign."

Why give Winter his media blurb so soon Grecian - surely you could have made him wait ;)

UTB!

The Star operate in a time-warp. I'm (very) occasionally 'in the know'. It was rather amusing, for example, to read The Scar reporting "Warnock given permission to speak to Portsmouth" when I knew he'd met them two days before.

From time to time I'm involved in news stories they write (they wouldn't necessarily know that). When you are that close, it brings home just how inaccurate they can be.

I see teams are allready buying and selling. We are not going to sell- buy untill the new manager is here. So wait untill he comes then sell, we have to sell before we can buy, by the time that happens the good players have allready signed for othe clubs, and we cannot sell the players we need to get rid of to buy the players we need. The price of property sinks even further McCabe has even less money fasten your seat belts for the long trip.

It'll be at least two week, by which point the club can use the set excuse that all the players we want to sign are on holiday…then two weeks later when they sign for someone else, it'll be the excuse of 'we couldn't match the wages' or 'they got in first', etc etc.

Got i'm beginning to sound cynical like dingledog!

Just in time to make rash decisions in the loan market and get in yet another heap of shit

at the end of the day
we will take it one step at a time
we will take a measured approach
weigh up all the pros and cons
have protracted discussions , assessing each candidates attributes
then get the 50 p coin and narrow it down in turn until we pick the suitable candidate, in time honoured fashion

Well, the longer it goes on the less likely it's Morgan.....or is that too obvious?

According to those who alledge to know, the dream team is Robinson and Morgs but Morgs may not be up for it. Add to that the fact that Motherwell still have a game left to play at the weekend which is going to slow down any approach for McCall so we may not hear anything for a few more days yet.

Here's some alleged management of the situation by a manager. If Robinson is the one identified and definitely wants to come sort out the compo with MK, tell Morgs he's offered assistant take-it-or-leave-it and give him 24hrs to decide, if he's still being antsy show him the door and tell Robinson to get who he wants.

Press conference on Wednesday. Sorted :D

Robinson's number 2 at MK Dons is one of the few people in football who can legitimately claim to be harder than Chris Morgan - Mick Harford. I suggest we let them duke it out for the right to be Blades' assistant manager.

Who the hell is Morgan to dictate the new management structure? Like Cresswell, he was only taken onto the coaching staff to save costs. He has done absolutely nothing to place himself in a position of strength. A new manager should decide on his assistants, not existing members of staff!

What next, Mrs. Doyle insists KR can't be manager unless he remains captain?

Sometimes I despair.
