All this talk of play-offs is actually making me feel slightly uncomfortable at the minute. The whole can we / can't we talk as though people secretly believe we can do it, so on and so forth.

Serious though, do we actually want it? If so, why?

Ok, we have managed to grind out a couple of wins in the last few games. The truth of the fact is however that we managed to beat a couple of otherwise poor teams who to be fair, on paper we should beat handsomely anyway. Factor in the fact that we were unimpressive and lost at a poor Millwall and that we nearly managed to throw away the Crewe game and we are being way more realistic.

I am trying to stay true to the fact that we have been shocking for the majority of this season. At the back we always look likely to concede a goal and the recent change in formation hasn't addressed this as of yet. And at the other end of the pitch we are very much hit and miss, we have poor days and we have half decent days.

In a nutshell......Upto now we haven't been good enough and don't warrant a play-off place! Fact?!..........

Do we really want to crawl into that 6th position on fortune alone, only to come up against a much more consistent and organised 3rd or 4th place team? We have both 3rd and 4th placed teams to play and I guess this might give us a more realistic benchmark as to how equipped we actually are but this season we have only managed a scrappy point at Walsall and a very heavy defeat against Gillingham. Doesn't exactly inspire does it.

Of course I want us to do well....Of course my ambition is promotion back to the Championship....But I would say that so far this season we simply haven't been good enough and are far less likely to have any success in the play-offs than ever before.

I don't know if it's even possible to look any worse in a playoff situation than we have the last 8. (is it 9) playoffs...

But to be frank, this is the worst spineless gutless first team I've ever seen, struggling in league one like a set of tossers, the exemptions which we all can spot a mile off are playing shit too, but there's varying degrees of shit isn't there.....

It's a no for me, until we get rid of the current board we won't be able to build a team around talented players cause they sell our future down the river first shot, and any fucker saying we have to sell, blah blah blah, we can't keep em blah blah, look at Everton, stones under contract, going nowhere ... In league one we should be able to keep our stars.... Truth is they want to cash in, and they do every time... Get rid of mcsell and the invisible prince.... Because they're very happy with league one and knob heads on the pitch

We won't reach the play-offs this season. I gave up on that once that late Swindon equaliser went in. I'm predicting an 8th/9th/10th place finish. Just hoping the promised shake up/re-build/etc actually happens in the summer.

We have played poor and looked disjointed since Gillingham . We still have a mathematical chance of the play offs , but this becomes more unrealistic , as we cannot put a run together , or the points gap will ever widen with 6 teams being in the mix.

It is unlikely that we will hit the play offs , but if we did ( and we won't ) , we are so shit we would win them . That's football .

It would be better to build in the championship than league 1 , We have issues on and off the football pitch , so whichever league we are in next season , ain't going to be a walk in the park , and relegation could be on the cards.

Me , I would take promotion any day of the week , but we have no chance . Board , players , Adkins just not good enough . We still might not be good enough next season in league 1.

When they promise something they always deliver!

In reply to the OP re: Millwall, heard off loads that were there that we were terrible, yet in the Crewe programme read one of the players (think it was Edgar) saying how they controlled vast swathes of the game and deserved the point. This is part of the problem, unless some home truths are spelt out to the players we're going no where fast.

Also in reply to the OP re: crawling into the play-offs, if by some miracle we were to finish 6th (I cannot see us getting anywhere near and agree for the most part we have been dreadful this season) we wouldn't have crawled into the play-offs we'd have been on a reet roll and would be flying ;)

I'm actually quite surprised we look like finishing top half. Its such a boring end to the season so obviously people are clinging on to the play offs to try and keep some interest up. I think everyone knows, including the management, that the season is over

No chance of making the play offs, zero, zilch.

I am torn between wanting this season to be over and dreading what next season is going to be like.
