I didn't say rumour, I said he's due to sign today!

The rumour is about Johann Berg Gudmundsson! :p
 
According to the Blackpool 'sources' he's either signing for Bournemouth today or staying with Blackpool as his Dad is dead against a move here.

Back to rumours ;)

True but he's exactly the same age with almost identical experience to Harry when he stepped up to the 1st team 3 years ago. A no risk signing and well worth it given the reports coming out of Blackpool.
 
We still need a striker!
Our downfall last season and failure to make the play-offs was lack of goals due to not getting a decent striker in!
I really hope NC doesn't just get another Paynter type player in.
It's been pointed out that most of the better more sought-after players were signed at the back of close season and even into the early season as the Premiership clubs finalised their squads and better players filtered down the leagues.

We need goals, and relying on midfield/Porter/Baxter isn't the answer!

Wouldn't worry just yet, it's clear a striker is still the No.1 priority and we have brought in McNulty who could be anything. There's always a certain Welshman.........

There's a lot of (seemingly) crap flying around their forums saying his Dad is trying to scupper the deal as he's a Leeds fan but others (including on here) have said this is rubbish. Their forums are in meltdown this morning that he's been allowed to leave for us (the player not his Dad :))
 
I might get shot down for this but I actually don't mind if we don't bring In a striker. I think Baxter, Scougall and Murphy will bring in a few goals to the team. Mcnulty and Porter will also chip in with a few goals maybe from the bench, if Baxter is fit he could be that 20+ goal a season striker we are looking for.

Clough has already filled the team with people who compliment each others games and have experience playing together with Wallace and Baxter, Scougall and Mcnulty.

It depends on how Clough wants us to play though if we are playing 4-4-2 then I agree we desperately need a striker but 4-5-1 I think we could be fine with what we have.

I said a while ago I can't see Baxter fitting in this season. Clough obviously wants a 'figurehead' striker to be the centre point of the attack and I think he wants to play Scougs in the role Baxter was probably bought for just behind / alongside him. I think Flynniesta, Wallace, Basham and Murph will be the midfield with McNulty and Ports initially on the bench. Baxter is a talent, albeit a frustrating one at times and will be good back up for up front or midfield but I just can't see him starting this season as things stand.
 

FWIW i think Scougall & Baxter will be rotated to suit the opposition.

Unto the new signing. Another young talent who can only get better?
 
I'm 'hearing' he has now signed, but nothing official to confirm it yet!

Not to mention Mark Howard who most of my Blackpool mates would take back tomorrow. At least they've got McMahon :)

We do indeed need goals. Our excellent manager knows that full well.

He also knows, unlike some of us, that we don't need any until 9 August!
