<< Both Hagan and Derek Dooley, one of the city’s most respected sporting figures and possibly the only person revered by followers of its two rival clubs, are both immortalised in bronze outside United’s ground. Deservedly, absolutely deservedly, too. But it does seem strange that, having been identified by the club itself as the best player ever to wear the famous red and white stripes, Currie is not out there keeping them company. >>

I think you'll find that's a statue of Joe Shaw out there not Jimmy Hagan.
A poor show for someone who spends most of his working life at Bramall Lane.

Hagan ought to be there. Reckon TC will be one day.

It's a piece of piss nowadays with technology aswell. 3D scan him, de-age in Zbrush with historical references, scale to statue proportions, mill him out of foam, finish it, plaster over it, melt the foam out and rotocast it, fill the centre with concrete and polish. No dodgy likenesses.

Should scan Billy and McCabe while we're at it as I'm sure in time they're most likely to have statues.

My phone can do 3D scans like this, a professional company can do a magic.

I reckon we could have one built and installed quicker than it took Motty to deliver that cracking anecdote though.

It was good of him to give a mention to TC in all that me me I me I me I though.

Surely this one is indefensible ?

Perhaps James could mention it in his next column?

"The Star 'shocked' by own Blades journalist writing crap, embarrassing whole City yet again. (Accompanied by photo of Gerry Young)

Can we have one of Gerry Young with a football zipping under his raised foot?

Awful journalism but equally shocking is the fact some clown at the Lane decided that the only other statue in the car park alongside Joe Shaw should be the huge one of Derek Dooley, at best a moderately good administrator and at worst a former Grunter who was promoted way beyond his level of capability.

It is blindingly obvious to anyone who has followed the Blades for the last 70 years as I have that the only other people to deserve such an honour, apart from St. Joseph, are Jimmy Hagan and Tony Currie and the sooner that this gross injustice is rectified the better.

It will also save me the inconvenience of putting two fingers up to one of the existing ones every time I see it.

I've never understood this too - Derek Dooley ? really ?

The good news is that in the Star tomorrow, there is to be an item on someone who has spent over £1000 on Lego to build a replica of Hillsborough. Start thinking of jokes now...

This season, it's like they genuinely are going out of their way to antagonise us. It's more likely cock-up than conspiracy, but ffs, if you make the effort to get the SUFC stuff right, there's no cock-up, innit ?

Ah Motty. Memries. I said exactly what you say here, Raulster, at the match. My lad (age 18) said "You'll moan about absolutely anything, Dad". #youngunswithnounderstandingofmottyhistory
