Slimane symbolised recruitment by people who thought they knew more than the manager but clearly had no idea of the requirements of the Premier League. Like Traore, he had a few ball skills but was totally lacking in game sense. Lost possession in dangerous areas and looked generally clueless positionally. A League One player at best and even then, how many managers would trust him?
