The lad is literally born and raised in Malmö, he played also many youth internationals before switching. His family live here - there was lots of media attention regarding him and his non wearing of the “correct” captains armband.
Yes of course he has affinities with Bosnia but a Bosnian he ain’t.
Thats not how it works 🤣

I’m betting that with this being a European transfer….the fee will be circa £5 million. The ridiculous fees paid in the Premier League are rarely paid in Europe.

My take on the current situation is that Wilder is trying to build a squad for Championship football & with 17 players out of contract in 5 months time….its a good job!
He doesn't deserve a ridiculous fee and I cant see them selling for 5m either.

Depressing isn’t it, but none the less, position wise, most fans haven’t witnessed such a high average position as we have over the last 4 years.

I too can dream up a scenario where someone else loses lots of their own money to make it better for me.

Previous owners would have reduced debts by selling players earlier, and we’d now be competing nicely in the championship.

It’s the shit state of English football in recent years. You need a rich owner to fund a competitive, mid range premier league club. Otherwise you’re cannon fodder. No amount of being “well run” alters that.
Don’t get me wrong,I’ve loved the football since Wilder first came to the club, unfortunately JOC’s injury and covid nackered us big style along with expensive idiotic signings. Hecky did a good job to stabilise then totally didn’t have a clue when up against the big boys. We start again and hope the plans for next season blossom but until he sells up to “someone who can take us forward and sustain us” we will sell and continually be a top end championship club, which the pigs would kill for at present!

No idea if this is real. A 'verified' account means nothing these days. However, if it is real, fuck me, Anel needs to have a word. In this day and age, having open conversations with GenPop about PL footballers careers and business is a MASSIVE red flag. His 'Dad' will be doing far more harm than good here.

The open stuff he says/does on twitter was bad enough doing player ratings at the like at one point!

Napoli spent more than that on a reserve keeper that they loaned out the same day this summer?

If I was a 24 year old with a good season behind me and being made to look shit because of the incompetence off the field then I'd likely be saying the exact same things as his dad is. He has every right to feel totally let down.

Don't get me wrong, he hasn't done himself (nor us) many favours with his below par performances this year but I can understand his motivation being at rock-bottom seeing his best teammates being sold in front of his eyes.

It's not just the on field performances that suffer when we show a lack of ambition, it's also everything that surrounds the club. What motivation is there for ambitious young players to come here to get their arses handed to them every week? It's a surefire way to see your stock fall through the floor.

By the inverse rationale, does everybody that signs for Man City see their value skyrocket just because they're winning every week?

Anel goes, just leaves Hamer, Larouci and Souza to go.

Should see a nice British team for Wilders first full season back in the Championship.

Cant wait for Arthur shaw, Frank long bottom and Alfred bagshaw to sign.

It certainly doesn't harm their market value!

Maybe ask Kalvin Phillips etc, but from our point of view, I don't really get why someone would see their value drop if they showed up and at least played the best they could. Playing in the best league in the world is a shop window, it doesn't necessarily matter if everyone else in your team is shit, as long as you're demonstrating the attributes that a potential new club would want

He chose to play for Bosnia over Sweden because he is Bosnian by ethnicity and ancestry, not Swedish. You are literally telling a guy who clearly feels more Bosnian than Swedish (because he is) that he 'ain't' a Bosnian.

Again, being born somewhere doesn't mean you are of that place or population group. A Nigerian born in Japan is not Japanese, they are Nigerian. Rudyard Kipling was not Indian despite being born in India. It's really not that complicated.

Me and my whole family are English, I'm im born in another country and barely set foot in England, does that make me English?
Yes exactly. If you were an Englishman born and raised in Korea, you would be an Englishman in Korea. Not Korean. Ethnicity and nationality are not the same thing. In the case of Anel, he is Bosnian by ethnicity hence why he chose to play for Bosnia and not Sweden.

Generally speaking a players value will increase if they're playing every week and they're winning. Phillips is an obvious exception.

Regards Anel, I would normally agree but surely it's difficult to argue that he's unable to demonstrate his ability in the structure he finds himself in? He's probably having to make more sacrifices for the team that means he's having to curb a lot of his better personal attributes. I certainly think he's starting to look a worse player than he is because he doesn't have the calibre of players around him - a calibre he was expecting or promised when he agreed to sign for us most likely.

Personally feel it's indicative of a general decline and lack of forward planning that we've started to see and will continue to, unless we show a genuine willingness to invest in good young players to start moving in the right direction. As it stands it looks like we've got promoted, shit the bed and sold every bit of silver that we've got. I can't blame AA for wanting out tbh.

Whatever the circumstances, since promotion to the top division in world football we have seen our best players leave - and a lot of people actually think that’s ok 👌

Are Napoli really that big ?

Honestly
They’re a top four serie A team. No danger of going down and regularly play in Europe. They represent a massive area beyond Naples. They have sunshine and we have shirecliffe. They’re an enormous step up from us.

If Napoli want him, will he end up sitting on the bench every week, bacause if we think he's championship at best thats what he's going to do, still, he can enjoy the money

Agree mate - but be careful, you'll be called a PIG ,or something else insulting, because you don't clap like fk and have the audacity to criticise what`s in front of our faces.

Imagine how we look to others who are looking in at us - another high profile (in Utd terms) player being moving on - this time, with 2 years left on his contract , we cant even use the excuse that we have to cash in because his contract is up.

Joke owner

Spot on 👍

I suppose it's a good job that other clubs don't view our players through "you're all shit" glasses like many here do

I understand that point of view also.
I myself come from ethnic backgrounds but was born and raised British/English.
Whatever the man decided to represent for football as his country doesn’t take away his influences from said adopted country of his parents.

From what I understood, we've been trying to do deals with them for a long time, and they wanted to run their contracts down. No player can be forced to sign a deal.

To happen three times though, along with lots of our young prospects not being tied down, means a degree of skepticism about our “efforts” to tie players down is more than reasonable.

But why wouldn’t to we want to tie players down?
