It’s funny, I think I commented in Shout Box that Wilders comments were slightly odd ‘Apparently he’s available, we need a defender, and he left on decent terms so yeah…’ before moving onto the Souttar bid and other things. Looking back, I wonder if it was almost a challenge to the Board, a ‘ffs every man and his dog can see this would be a good deal for us’ type thing.

Could be wrong, but if a deal seemed likely, I think the answer would have been ‘Yep, it’s something we’re looking into’ type answer with a little glint in his eye.
